Abstract

Semen merupakan salah satu material pembentuk beton berfungsi sebagai pengikat. Penggunaan semen dalam beton berdampak buruk bagi lingkungan. Hal ini dikarenakan proses produksi semen yang meliputi penambangan dan pengolahan mengakibatkan kerusakan ekosistem dan menghasilkan polusi. Selain itu, bahan pembentuk semen juga merupakan sumber daya yang tidak terbaharukan karena memerlukan jangka panjang dalam hal pembentukannya. Untuk itu, semen dapat digantikan dengan material lain yang berfungsi sebagai material. Terkait dengan ini, beton geopolimer dapat menjadi solusi alternatif karena tidak menggunakan material semen. Pada penelitian ini, material pengganti semen terdiri dari fly ash sebagai material dasar dan abu cangkang kelapa sawit sebagai tambahan. Fly ash mengandung Si dan Al yang tinggi, berfungsi sebagai bahan dasar pengganti semen. Begitu juga dengan abu cangkang kelapa sawit yang memiliki kandungan Si hingga 60%, sehingga dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kuat tekan. Penelitian dilakukan guna melihat pengaruh dan efektifitas kuat tekan terhadap penambahan abu cangkang kelapa sawit pada beton geopolimer. Persentase penambahan yang digunakan sebesar 0%, 5%, dan 10% terhadap fly ash dengan konsentrasi larutan NaOH adalah 12M. Penelitian diawali dengan membuat benda uji melalui proses pengecoran lalu curing dengan 2 metode, curing suhu ruangan dan curing oven. Penambahan abu cangkang kelapa sawit berdampak pada kenaikan kuat tekan dimana hasil tertinggi didapat pada saat beton umur 56 hari dengan variabel ACKS10-Ov. Selain itu, perbedaan metode curing terbukti berpengaruh dalam peningkatan kuat tekan dimana metode curing oven lebih unggul. Hal itu terjadi akibat dari reaksi kimia pada beton geopolimer yang mengalami percepatan. Selain pengujian tekan, dilakukan juga pengujian untuk mengetahui kualitas beton, yaitu uji UPV dan SEM. / Cement is one of the materials used in making concrete as a binding material. Cement in concrete has negative impact on the environment. Can cause damage to the ecosystem due to the mining and produce pollutions from the process of cement production. Cement also a non-renewable resource because it requires a long term process for the formation. Therefore, cement can be replaced with other materials that function as binding materials in concrete. In this case, geopolymer concrete is the alternative solution because geopolymer concrete doesn’t use cement to its production. In this research, the replacement of cement material consists of fly ash as the basic material and palm oil fuel ash as an added material. Fly ash contains high Si and Al so can be used as base material for cement substitutes. Palm oil fuel ash ash which also has a high Si content of around 60%, can be used to increase the compressive strength. This research was conducted to determine the effect and effectiveness of compressive strength on the addition of palm oil fuel ash to geopolymer concrete. The percentage of palm oil fuel ash addition used was 0%, 5%, and 10% with the concentration of 12M NaOH. This research started with making the test specimens through the casting process and then curing the test specimens with 2 methods, cured at room temperature and oven curing. This addition has an impact on increasing compressive strength of geopolymer concrete where the oven curing method produce superior compressive strength. It happen due to accelerated chemical reactions in geopolymer concrete. Besides the compressive test, UPV test is performed to determine the quality.
