Abstract

This thesis explores the cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea in developing renewable energy from a Liberalist perspective. The study aims to understand the interests of both countries in establishing a cooperative relationship in the renewable energy sector and to analyze the outcomes and influences of this partnership on their bilateral relations. The research employs a qualitative approach, analyzing policy documents, bilateral agreements, and expert interviews to explore how Liberalism's emphasis on cooperation, free trade, and international institutions is reflected in the renewable energy collaboration between these two nations. The findings highlight the role of Liberalist principles in shaping international partnerships, particularly in the context of sustainable development and renewable energy. The partnership between Indonesia and South Korea in the promotion of renewable energy is driven by shared objectives that result in economic, environmental, and strategic benefits for both nations. The collaboration fosters trust and interdependence, as both nations work towards common goals. The continuous exchange of dialogue enhances the commitment to sustainable practices and strengthens the overall diplomatic partnership. The positive outcomes resulting from their collaborative endeavors in renewable energy strengthen a broader and stronger bilateral partnership, highlighting the enduring benefits of common environmental and economic objectives.
