Abstract

Dalam operasional industri manufaktur, salah satu aspek krusial yang mempengaruhi efisiensi dan produktivitas adalah tata letak penyimpanan bahan baku. Pada saat ini, cara penyimpanan bahan baku di PT. XYZ masih menggunakan metode penyimpanan sederhana dan belum adanya penyesuaian dengan ketentuan atau kebijakan baru yang berlaku, yang mengakibatkan beberapa masalah di antaranya: kesulitan dalam mengelompokkan bahan baku berdasarkan karakteristiknya, kesulitan dalam memastikan rotasi persediaan yang tepat. Selain itu adanya rencana pemasangan mesin dan bangunan yang baru di area produksi membuat perlu dilakukan tata ulang kembali susunan bahan baku. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut perlu adanya perencanaan ulang tata letak penyimpanan bahan baku yang baru untuk memaksimalkan ruang penyimpanan yang tersisa agar lebih maksimal dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan produksi ke depannya dengan metode penyimpanan berbasis kelas (Class-Based Storage Policy). Hasil penelitian ini adalah rancangan tata letak usulan yang dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan produksi di departemen X, Plant M, PT XYZ. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa rancangan tata letak usulan yang dibuat dapat mengurangi jarak tempuh sebesar 6,69%, dan mengurangi ongkos penanganan material sebesar 7,5%. Meskipun ada penurunan kapasitas penyimpanan sebesar 84 palet karena penambahan mesin produksi, namun terjadi peningkatan efisiensi ruang mencapai 22,42% dari tata letak bahan baku awal. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi pengelompokkan berbasis kelas dan perbaikan tata letak memberikan manfaat signifikan dalam efisiensi ruang dan pengurangan biaya operasional. / In manufacturing industry operations, one of the crucial aspects that affect efficiency and productivity is the layout of raw material storage. At present, the way raw materials are stored at PT XYZ still uses simple storage methods and there has been no adjustment to the new provisions or policies that apply, which results in several problems including: difficulty in grouping raw materials based on their characteristics, difficulty in ensuring proper inventory rotation. In addition, the planned installation of new machines and buildings in the production area makes it necessary to rearrange the arrangement of raw materials. Based on this background, it is necessary to re-plan the new raw material storage layout to maximize the remaining storage space to be more optimal and in accordance with future production needs with the class-based storage method (Class Based Storage Policy). The result of this research is a proposed layout design that can accommodate production needs in department X, Plant M, PT XYZ. Based on the analysis, it is known that the proposed layout design can reduce travel distance by 6.69%, and reduce material handling costs by 7.5%. Although there is a decrease in storage capacity by 84 Pallets due to the addition of production machines, there is an increase in space efficiency reaching 22.42% from the initial raw material layout. This study shows that the class-based grouping strategy and layout improvements provide significant benefits in space efficiency and operational cost reduction.
