Abstract

Amerika Serikat tidak diragukan lagi adalah negara adidaya di dunia dan pengaruhnya mencapai bahkan bagian terjauh di dunia. Di antara banyak urusan internasional yang terlibat langsung dengan Amerika Serikat, Salah satunya adalah konflik Semenanjung Korea yang telah berlangsung sejak zaman Perang Dingin. Pemerintah Amerika Serikat, Korea Selatan dan Korea Utara memiliki kepentingan dan tujuan yang berbeda yang harus mereka peroleh di tengah proses manajemen konflik. Sudah hampir tujuh puluh tahun sejak perang di Semenanjung Korea terjadi dan para pemangku kepentingan tetap terpisah sejak perjanjian gencatan senjata ditandatangani. Penelitian ini berupaya memahami bagaimana kehadiran Amerika Serikat muncul dalam gambar, dan bagaimana keterlibatannya mempengaruhi arah manajemen konflik Semenanjung Korea. Interaksi antara para pemangku kepentingan juga akan diamati untuk memahami sifat kompleks dari manajemen konflik yang sedang berlangsung. Menggunakan perspektif Realisme Neoklasik, Semenanjung Korea memiliki beberapa elemen untuk dipertimbangkan dan diwaspadai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode seperti pendekatan kualitatif dan perbandingan historis untuk melihat sifat dinamika yang berubah. Metodologi yang disebutkan mencakup studi dan dokumen yang relevan terkait dengan topik untuk memberikan wawasan yang bermanfaat dan kemungkinan prospek manajemen konflik yang sedang berlangsung. Dengan demikian, topik Semenanjung Korea akan menjadi kasus pendidikan hubungan internasional untuk tujuan penelitian masa depan dan sarjana yang tajam. Lebih lanjut, tesis ini menjelaskan bagaimana sifat alami dari manajemen konflik berubah sepanjang perjalanan sejarah modern ketika sistem internasional berubah. Sebagai kesimpulan, manajemen konflik ini adalah kasus yang ideal untuk menunjukkan sifat kompleks hubungan internasional dan bagaimana negara adikuasa, seperti Amerika Serikat, secara aktif terlibat dalam wilayah yang berbeda. Tesis ini dapat digunakan untuk memahami keberadaan negara adikuasa global di komunitas internasional dan mengapa tindakannya dapat dilihat di berbagai belahan dunia./The United States is undoubtedly the superpower of the world and its influence reaches even the furthest part of the globe. Among the numerous international affairs which the United States is directly involved in, One of them is the Korean Peninsula’s conflict that has been going on since the days of the Cold War. The governments of the United States, South Korea and North Korea have different interests and goals which they must obtain amidst the conflict management process. It has been nearly seventy years since the war in the Korean Peninsula took place and the stakeholders have remained separated since the ceasefire agreement was signed. This research seeks to understand how the presence of the United States came into the picture, and how its involvement affected the direction of the Korean Peninsula’s conflict management. The interactions between the stakeholders will also be observed to understand the complex nature of the ongoing conflict management. Using the Neoclassical Realism perspective, Korean Peninsula has several elements to consider and look out for. The research uses methods such as qualitative approach and historical comparison to see the changing nature of the dynamics. The mentioned methodology incorporates relevant studies and documents related to the topic to give useful insights and possible prospects of the ongoing conflict management. Thus, the topic of the Korean Peninsula will be an educational case of international relations for future research purposes and keen scholars. Furthermore, this thesis explains how the very nature of the conflict management changed throughout the course of modern history as the international system transformed. In conclusion, this conflict management is an ideal case to show the complex nature of international relations and how a superpower, such as the United States, is actively involved in a different region. This thesis can be used to comprehend the existence of a global superpower in the international community and why its actions can be seen in different parts of the world.
