Abstract

Technological advancements in the internet field make people access and share various information without limit on social media. People can establish a free and unlimited exchange of information, photos, and videos on social media. However, internet users can become perpetrators of sexual harassment in cyberspace, known as revenge porn. Revenge porn perpetrators can publish sexually explicit photos without the approval even the consent of the owner as of the aim of revenge. The cause of revenge porn is generally carried out by men who disagree on women’s one-sided decision in ending a dating relationship. Unfortunately, victims of revenge porn are still very far from justice and security because of the patriarchal society. Victims of revenge porn tend to experience blame and discrimination caused by the social construction of women. By using a qualitative approach and phenomenological method, this research discusses the misuse of social media as a tool for sexual harassment by users who have a patriarchal belief by spreading pornographic content non- consensually, revenge porn. However, this research focuses on placing women as victims of revenge porn in the context of a patriarchal society. Kemajuan teknologi dalam bidang internet membuat masyarakat secara bebas mengakses dan membagikan berbagai informasi dalam media sosial. Masyarakat dapat menjalin hubungan bertukar cerita, foto, dan video secara bebas dan tanpa batas dalam media sosial dengan segala kemudahan yang ada. Namun, terdapat juga para pengguna yang menyalahgunakan media sosial. Pengguna internet yang menjadi pelaku pelecehan seksual dalam siber yaitu kasus revenge porn. Pelaku revenge porn dapat menyebarkan foto dengan konten seksual yang eksplisit tanpa sepertujuan bahkan sepengetahuan pemiliknya dengan tujuan balas dendam. Revenge porn umumnya dilakukan oleh laki-laki yang tidak setuju atas keputusan sepihak oleh perempuan dalam mengakhiri suatu hubungan berpacaran. Sayangnya, korban revenge porn masih sangat jauh dari keadilan dan keamanan karena paham-paham patriarki yang dianut oleh masyarakat. Bahkan, korban revenge porn cenderung mengalami penyalahan dan diskriminasi konstruksi sosial terhadap perempuan yang dibentuk oleh masyarakat. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode fenomenologi penelitian ini membahas tentang penyalahgunaan media sosial yang digunakan sebagai alat pelecehan seksual oleh pengguna yang memiliki paham patriarki dengan cara menyebarkan konten pornografi tanpa persetujuan pemiliknya, revenge porn. Namun, penelitian ini berfokus pada penempatan peremuan sebagai korban revenge porn dalam konteks masyarakat patriarki.
