Abstract

Indonesia has been an independent country since 1945 and each and every one of their citizen must uphold their rights and values according to the law. Unfortunately, in reality everything is far from what it’s supposed to be, especially among women. Hence, I want to make a motion comic that hold a great value about women empowerment which aimed for young generations as a response to gender discrimination issue which happened at young age. The design process in this motion comic divided into three stages, the first one is data collectivity, the second one is analysis process, and the last one is visual development. Through the values that this motion comic hold, I hope it can teach and strengthen the critical thinking about the importance of women role in this world and more importantly to prevent gender discrimination in the future. / Indonesia sudah merdeka sejak tahun 1945 dan setiap warga negara Indonesia dituntut untuk menjunjung tinggi hak dan martabat diri mereka masing-masing. Namun pada kenyataannya semua hal tersebut belum sejalan dengan pemenuhan hak asasi manusia (HAM) pada kaum perempuan. Maka dari itu, Penulis memutuskan untuk membuat motion comic bertema women empowerment yang ditujukan bagi generasi-generasi muda sebagai bentuk respon kepedulian mengenai kasus diskriminasi pada wanita yang terjadi di usia dini. Perancangan motion comic ini terbagi menjadi tiga tahap, yaitu pengumpulan data, proses analisa, perancangan visual. Melalui perancangan motion comic “Mother” diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan sikap kritis mengenai pentingnya peranan wanita sejak usia muda sehingga hal-hal yang bersangkutan dengan diskriminasi terhadap wanita diharapkan tidak terjadi lagi di masa yang akan mendatang
