Abstract

Mathematics is a fundamental science needed in everyday life. It can be used as a tool to solve mathematical problems in daily life. However, in practice, students often encounter difficulties in applying mathematics to solve mathematical problems. Students need self-efficacy to build confidence and resilience in overcoming mathematical problems. Mathematical communication provides students with the ability to express mathematical ideas, enabling them to find solutions to mathematical problems. Additionally, numerical skills are essential for students to operate numbers and obtain calculation results for mathematical problems. The research aims to examine the influence of self-efficacy, mathematical communication, and numerical skills on the ability to solve mathematical problems in first-grade elementary school students. A quantitative study was conducted with 75 first-grade students. A questionnaire with 30 questions was used to measure students' self-efficacy. Three dimensions, namely magnitude, strength, and generality, were used to measure students' beliefs, resilience, and perseverance regarding the given mathematical problems. A mathematical story problem with three criteria - mathematical communication, numerical skills, and the ability to solve mathematical problems - was also given to the research respondents. Regression analysis revealed that self-efficacy, mathematical communication, and numerical skills significantly influence the ability to solve mathematical problems. Based on the research findings, actions are determined to improve the ability to solve mathematical problems for first-grade students. / Matematika adalah ilmu dasar yang dibutuhkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Matematika dapat digunakan sebagai alat memecahkan masalah matematis dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun pada prakteknya peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam menggunakan matematika dalam pemecahan masalah matematika. Peserta didik membutuhkan efikasi diri untuk membangun kepercayaan dan ketahanan diri dalam mengatasi permasalahan matematika. Komunikasi matematika memberikan kemampuan peserta didik dalam mengungkapkan ide matematika sehingga mampu menemukan solusi atas permasalahan matematika. Dan keterampilan berhitung dibutuhkan peserta didik dalam mengoperasikan angka sehingga diperoleh hasil perhitungan atas masalah matematika. Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh efikasi diri, komunikasi matematika dan keterampilan berhitung terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada peserta didik kelas I SD. Penelitian kuantitatif dilakukan pada 75 peserta didik kelas I SD. Untuk mengukur efikasi diri peserta didik digunakan kuesioner dengan 30 pertanyaan. Terdapat tiga dimensi yakni magnitude, strength, dan generality digunakan untuk mengukur keyakinan, ketahanan dan ketekunan peserta didik terhadap permasalahan matematika yang diberikan. Satu buah soal cerita matematika dengan tiga buah rubrik yakni komunikasi matematika, keterampilan berhitung dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika juga diberikan kepada responden penelitian. Dengan analisis regresi ditemukan bahwa efikasi diri, komunikasi matematika dan keterampilan berhitung berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Mengacu pada hasil penelitian maka ditentukan tindakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika bagi peserta didik kelas I SD.
