Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia is the national language that needs to be mastered from an early age. In every level of education, Indonesian is taught according to the students' developmental stages. However, in practice in the field, many people find a lack of ability to read, write and speak Indonesian, especially in educational institutions that use foreign language for the introductory learning lessons. This research aims to improve the first graders’ ability to read, write, and speak Indonesian at the elementary school level by means of gamification methods application. The subjects of this research were 21 grade 1 students at XYZ Private Elementary School in Tangerang. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The findings reveal that gamification methods can improve students' reading, writing, and speaking skills in Bahasa Indonesia. / Bahasa Indonesia merupakan bahasa persatuan sebagai bahasa ibu yang perlu dimiliki sejak usia dini. Dalam setiap jenjang pendidikan, bahasa Indonesia diberikan sesuai dengan tahapan perkembangan peserta didik. Namun dalam praktik di lapangan banyak ditemukan kurangnya kemampuan membaca, menulis, dan berbicara dalam bahasa Indonesia terlebih di lembaga pendidikan yang menjadikan bahasa asing sebagai salah satu kata pengantar di dalam setiap pembelajarannya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca, menulis, dan berbicara bahasa Indonesia dalam jenjang sekolah tingkat dasa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran gamifikasi menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 21 peserta didik kelas 1 Sekolah Dasar Swasta XYZ di Tangerang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan membaca, menulis, dan berbicara siswa dapat ditingkatkan melalui metode pembelajaran gamifikasi.
