Abstract

Permasalahan seputar kesehatan mental atau kesehatan jiwa merupakan salah satu kekhawatiran terbesar banyak orang di belahan dunia. Perancangan proyek Tugas Akhir ini berfokus pada penerapan upaya promotif dan preventif terkait kesehatan mental bersama klien yang juga bekerja dengan nilai-nilai tersebut, yaitu Ubah Stigma. Salah satu bentuk dari upaya preventif dan promotif adalah healing environment, khususnya healing space. Perancangan healing space ini bertujuan untuk mewujudkan nilai kreatif Ubah Stigma dan mengakomodasi seluruh aktivitas yang terkait ke dalam desain interior creative hub serta menciptakan pengalaman penyembuhan dan pemeliharaan kesehatan mental melalui desain interior dengan efek promotif dan preventif. Pendekatan desain yang digunakan dalam perancangan proyek Tugas Akhir ini ialah teori “Life-Enhancing Design” (2001) yang menelaah karakteristik arsitektur Erik Asmussen. Standarisasi healing space pada proyek ini diambil dari “Mental Health Facilities Design Guide” (2017) sedangkan standarisasi creative hub diambil dari teori dalam artikel berjudul “Time to Define What a “Hub” Really Is” (2015). Klien dari proyek Tugas Akhir ini adalah Ubah Stigma, sebuah organisasi nirlaba (non-profit) yang telah berdiri sejak tahun 2018. Ubah Stigma bergerak dalam bidang kesehatan mental dengan visi mematahkan persepsi negatif dan stigma masyarakat terhadap kesehatan mental. Site yang terpilih adalah Jl. Kuningan Persada No. 1, Jakarta Selatan, karena terletak pada ibu kota yang ramai dan mudah diakses dari daerah lain. Data yang telah dikumpulkan diolah menjadi program ruang, konsep desain, dan pedoman lainnya yang menentukan arahan desain. Setelah diimplementasi pada proyek, penerapan ini dianalisis kembali berdasarkan pendekatan dan standarisasi. Kesimpulan dari proses perancangan hingga penulisan proyek Tugas Akhir ini ialah proyek berhasil memenuhi tujuannya namun tetap memiliki beberapa kekurangan dalam implementasi yang maksimal dan relevan. Meskipun begitu, proyek Tugas Akhir ini diharapkan dapat menjadi pembelajaran mengenai pentingnya kesadaran akan pemeliharaan kesehatan mental serta penciptaan fasilitas desain interior yang mengakomodasi aktivitas dan kebutuhan komunitas yang mendukung nilai tersebut. / Problems surrounding mental health are one of the biggest concerns for many people in all parts of the world. The design of this final project focuses on implementing promotive and preventive efforts related to mental health with a client who also work with these values, Ubah Stigma. One form of preventive and promotive effort is a healing environment, namely a healing space. The design of this healing space aims to embody the creative value of Ubah Stigma and accommodate all related activites into the creative hub interior design as well as to create a mental healing and maintenance experience through interior design with a promotive and preventive effect. The design approach used in designing this final project is the “Life-Enhancing Design” (2001) theory which examines Erik Asmussen’s architectural characteristics. The standardization of a healing space in this project is taken from the “Mental Health Facilities Design Guide” (2017) while the standardization of a creative hub in this project is taken from the theory found in the article entitled “Time to Define What a “Hub” Really Is” (2015). The client of this final project is Ubah Stigma, a non-profit organization that has been established since 2018. Ubah Stigma operates in the field of mental health with the aim to break society’s negative perceptions and stigma towards mental health. The selected site is Jl. Kuningan Persada No. 1, South Jakarta, because it is located in the busy capital city and is easily accessible from other areas. The data that has been collected is processed into space programming, design concepts, and other guidelines that determine the design direction. After implementations, these applications are reanalyzed based on the design approach and standardization. The conclusion taken from the process of designing to writing this final project is that the project succeeded in fulfilling its objectives but still has several shortcomings in optimal and relevant implementation. However, it is hoped that this final project will be a lesson in the importance of awareness of mental health maintenance and the creation of interior design facilities that accommodate activites and community needs that support those values.
