Abstract

This research begins with the Ad Rem project: Adaptation in Architecture, which aims to relocate the Joglo Siraman to Padepokan Sendra Tari Sekar Djagad complex to support the dance community's needs there. The Sekar Djagad complex showcases dances that appreciate nature, yet the existing buildings used for practice are insufficient in supporting performers to delve into the dances they perform. Enclosed structures and neglected greenery create conditions that hinder performers from connecting with nature. To create a complex that can support the dance activities of Padepokan Sekar Djagad, this project seeks to develop the padepokan by applying restorative architecture strategies and creating interaction between nature and humans in architecture. The design strategy aims to provide visual connection with nature, non-visual connection with nature, thermal variability and airflow, the presence of greenery and water, maximization of natural light, creating pollution and pollutant-free spaces, the presence of biomorphic forms and patterns, as well as the complexity and order of nature in complex development. By implementing restorative architecture strategies, the development is expected to accommodate the needs of Sekar Djagad Padepokan users and enhance the connection between nature and humans in the complex to support the desired dance performances.
