Abstract

Sebuah film membutuhkan dukungan dari penerapan teknik sinematografi yang dirancang oleh seorang Direktur Fotografi. Laporan tugas akhir ini berjudul "Peran D.O.P dalam Film Pendek Fiksi Occasion of Sins." Occasion of Sins adalah sebuah film pendek dengan genre psikologi thriller yang mengeksplorasi tema konflik di dalam bilik pengakuan dosa. Kisah ini mengisahkan tentang seorang pastor bernama Ferry yang menerima pengakuan dosa dari seorang jemaatnya, Paulus, yang mengaku dosa ternyata berhubungan dengan kisah masa kecilnya romo ferry. Oleh karena itu, peran Direktur Fotografi sangatlah vital dalam produksi film karena mereka bertanggung jawab atas konsep visual yang memperkuat pesan yang ingin disampaikan melalui penerapan teknik sinematografi. Sinematografi sendiri merupakan ilmu terapan yang membahas teknik pengambilan gambar dan penyatuan gambar-gambar tersebut untuk membentuk narasi visual yang mampu menyampaikan ide cerita secara efektif. / A movie needs support from the application of cinematography techniques designed by a Director of Photography. This final project report is entitled "The Role of D.O.P in the Fictional Short Film Occasion of Sins." Occasion of Sins is a short film with a psychological thriller genre that explores the theme of conflict in a confessional booth. The story is about a priest named Ferry who receives a confession from a member of his congregation, Paul, whose confession turns out to be related to the story of his childhood. Therefore, the role of the Director of Photography is vital in film production as they are responsible for the visual concept that reinforces the message to be conveyed through the application of cinematography techniques. Cinematography itself is an applied science that discusses shooting techniques and the unification of these images to form a visual narrative that is able to convey story ideas effectively.
