Abstract

There is only a few studies that measured the difference of level of knowledge between health service provider about hormonal contraception, especially the general practitioner and midwives as the first barrier of health service provider in Indonesia. The aim of this study is to measure the level of knowledge of general practitioners and midwives about hormonal contraception and to see if there is any difference between them. This cross-sectional study was conducted around the work area of some community health center (Puskesmas) from January to March 2018. Samples who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were asked to answer some questions about hormonal contraception on the questionnaire provided. Data were tabulated using Microsoft Excel 2017 and analyzed using the SPSS Program. From total 121 samples (consists of 64 midwives and 57 general practitioners), only 2 samples of each group (3,12% of midwives and 3,50% of general practitioners) that categorized as having a low knowledge about hormonal contraception. The midwive respondents’ good knowledge percentage is 96,9%, while the general practitioner respondents’ good knowledge percentage is 96,5% (p value = 1,000). The conclusion of this study is that there is a non-significance difference of the level of knowledge between general practitioners and midwives about hormonal contraception in Tangerang Regency. The good knowledge percentage for midwives and general practitioners are 96,9% dan 96,5%, respectively / Sangat sedikit penelitian yang mengukur perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan antar petugas kesehatan mengenai kontrasepsi hormonal, terutama dokter umum dan bidan sebagai penyedia layanan kesehatan tingkat satu di Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menilai tingkat pengetahuan dokter umum dan bidan mengenai kontrasepsi hormonal, serta melihat apakah terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan diantara keduanya. Studi potong lintang ini dilakukan di sekitar wilayah kerja beberapa puskesmas di Kabupaten Tangerang dari bulan Januari hingga Maret 2018. Sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi diminta untuk mengisi beberapa pertanyaan mengenai kontrasepsi hormonal yang tertera dilembar kuesioner. Hasil data kemudian ditabulasi menggunakan Microsoft Excel 2017 dan di analisis menggunakan program SPSS. Dari total 121 sampel (terdiri dari 64 bidan dan 57 dokter umum), hanya dua orang bidan (3,12%) dan dua orang dokter umum (3,50%) yang masuk kedalam kategori pengetahuan kurang. Kelompok responden bidan mempunyai persentase pengetahuan baik sebesar 96,9% sedangkan kelompok responden dokter umum mempunyai persentase pengetahuan baik sebesar 96,5% (p value = 1,000). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan yang tidak signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dokter umum dengan bidan mengenai kontrasepsi hormonal di Kabupaten Tangerang. Persentase pengetahuan baik responden bidan dan dokter umum berturut-turut adalah 96,9% dan 96,5%.
