Abstract

Antioksidan adalah senyawa yang dapat menangkal radikal bebas akibat dampak dari cemaran lingkungan yang menyebabkan terjadinya stres oksidatif hingga mengalami penyakit degeneratif. Bahan alam seperti daun kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) dan daun pepaya (Carica papaya L.) memiliki aktivitas antioksidan karena mengandung senyawa fitokimia seperti fenolik dan flavonoid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar fenolik dan flavonoid serta aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak daun kelor dan ekstrak daun pepaya. Total fenolik dari sampel ekstrak daun kelor adalah dan ekstrak daun pepaya adalah 33,74 dan 36,55 mgGAE/g ekstrak. Sementara itu, hasil total flavonoid menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun kelor dan ekstrak daun pepaya memiliki kandungan sebesar 40,53 dan 55,64 mgQE/g ekstrak. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan menentukan nilai IC50, ekstrak daun kelor memperoleh nilai 581,126 ppm dan ekstrak daun pepaya memperoleh nilai 644,501 ppm. Pengujian ekstrak kombinasi dilakukan untuk membandingkan akivitasnya dengan tanaman tunggal, hasil IC50 ekstrak kombinasi daun kelor dan daun pepaya adalah 679,67 ppm dan 546,77 ppm, tergolong sangat lemah. Pembanding yang digunakan dalam uji antioksidan adalah Vitamin C dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 12,618 ppm menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat. Pengujian kombinasi ekstrak tidak memberikan pengaruh sebagai antioksidan karena keberadaan senyawa fenolik dan flavonoid yang rendah./Antioxidants are compounds that can ward off free radicals resulting from the impact of environmental pollution which causes oxidative stress and even degenerative diseases. Natural ingredients such as Moringa oleifera L.) and papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) have antioxidant activity because they contain phytochemical compounds such as phenolics and flavonoids. This research aims to determine the phenolic and flavonoid levels as well as the antioxidant activity of Moringa leaf extract and papaya leaf extract. The total phenolics from the Moringa leaf extract and papaya leaf extract samples were 33.74 and 36.55 mgGAE/g extract. Meanwhile, the total flavonoid results showed that Moringa leaf extract and papaya leaf extract contained 40.53 and 55.64 mgQE/g extract. Antioxidant activity testing was carried out by determining the IC50 value, Moringa leaf extract obtained a value of 581,126 ppm and papaya leaf extract obtained a value of 644,501 ppm. Combination extract testing was carried out to compare its activity with single plants. The IC50 results for the combination extract of Moringa leaves and papaya leaves were 679.67 ppm and 546.77 ppm, classified as very weak. The comparator used in the antioxidant test is Vitamin C with an IC50 value of 12,618 ppm indicating very strong antioxidant activity. Testing the combination of extracts did not have an effect as an antioxidant due to the low presence of phenolic and flavonoid compounds.
