Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis film "Losmen Bu Broto" dalam konteks representasi pitutur luhur Jawa. Film ini diadaptasi dari serial televisi populer tahun 1980-an dengan judul yang sama dan menyajikan kisah sebuah keluarga yang mengelola sebuah losmen di Yogyakarta. Fokus penelitian ini adalah pada bagaimana nilai-nilai budaya Jawa seperti kesabaran, kesopanan, gotong royong, dan kesederhanaan direpresentasikan melalui berbagai elemen film, termasuk dialog, simbolisme visual, dan interaksi karakter. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis semiotika Roland Barthes, yang memungkinkan peneliti untuk mengidentifikasi dan memahami makna yang terkandung dalam simbol-simbol visual, dialog, dan elemen-elemen lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa film "Losmen Bu Broto" telah mengomunikasikan nilai-nilai budaya Jawa secara mendalam dalam konteks modern, menggambarkan relevansi dan adaptabilitas nilai-nilai tersebut dalam kehidupan saat ini, serta menunjukkan bagaimana media film dapat berfungsi sebagai alat untuk pemeliharaan dan transmisi budaya. Kata kunci: Pitutur luhur Jawa, representasi budaya, film Losmen Bu Broto, analisis semiotika, Roland Barthes. / This study aims to analyse the representation of Javanese wisdom (pitutur luhur) in the film "Losmen Bu Broto." The film is adapted from a popular 1980s television series of the same name and portrays the story of a family managing an inn in Yogyakarta. The focus of this research is on how Javanese cultural values such as patience, politeness, mutual cooperation, and simplicity are represented through various elements of the film, including dialogue, visual symbolism, and character interactions. The research employs Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, which enables the identification and understanding of the meanings embedded in visual symbols, dialogue, and other elements. The findings reveal that "Losmen Bu Broto" communicates Javanese cultural values in a profound manner in a modern context, illustrated the relevance and adaptability of these values in today's life, and shows how film media can serve as a medium for the preservation and transmission of culture.
