Abstract

In general, office buildings in the tropics use mechanical systems such as machinery as a major factor in responding to climate problems. This ignores the fact that the use of mechanical elements that are used continuously will have a negative impact on the environment. On the other hand, the Eco design offers the application of mixed modes and productive modes which make the building energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Eco design has four important criteria in its design namely physical criteria that look at how buildings respond to climate and the environment based on building expressions. Then, energy criteria and material criteria that focus on how the building becomes energy efficient. And ecological criteria that make office buildings are natural ecosystems themselves by imitating any features provided by natural ecosystems or called ecomimesis. As for the case study findings, buildings in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta, still cannot be said to have successfully applied the principles of eco-design. An example is Intiland Tower which lives as a building that characterizes a bit of the application of eco design in it. The existence of Intiland towers is used as a basis for design and minimum benchmarks to achieve the criteria for office buildings to be built. The design concept will move away from the recommendations outlined in the case study because it fits the context of site selection. Development leading to ecological design is also based on an analysis of the green features present in the precedent and how the precedent responds to the physical, energy, material, and ecological criteria of the eco design principle. Secara umum, bangunan tinggi perkantoran pada daerah tropis menggunakan sistem mekanikal seperti mesin sebagai faktor utama untuk menanggapi permasalahan iklim. Hal ini mengesampingkan fakta bahwa penggunaan elemen mekanikal yang dipakai secara terus menerus akan membawa dampak buruk bagi lingkungan. Disisi lain, Eco design menawarkan penerapan mixed mode dan productive mode yang membuat bangunan menjadi hemat energi dan ramah lingkungan. Adapun eco design mempunyai empat kriteria penting dalam perancangannya yakni kriteria fisik yang melihat bagaimana bangunan menanggapi iklim serta lingkungan berdasarkan ekspresi dari bangunan tersebut. Lalu, kriteria energi dan kriteria material dimana memfokuskan bagaimana bangunan menjadi hemat energi. Dan kriteria ekologi yang menjadikan bangunan perkantoran adalah ekosistem alami itu sendiri dengan meniru apa saja fitur yang disediakan ekosisitem alami atau disebut dengan ecomimesis.. Adapun dalam temuan studi kasus, bangunan di Indonesia khususnya dijakarta masih belum bias dikatakan berhasil dalam menerapkan prinsip eco design. Contohnya adalah Intiland Tower yang digadang sebagai gedung yang mencirikan sedikit penerapan eco design didalamnya. Adanya Intiland tower digunakan sebagai basis perancangan serta benchmark minimal bagi pencapaian kriteria bangunan perkantoran yang akan dibangun. Konsep perancangan akan bergerak dari rekomendasi yang telah dijabarkan dari studi kasus karena sesuai dengan konteks pemilihan site. Adapun pengembangan mengarah ke ecological design juga berdasarkan analisis green features yang ada pada preseden serta bagaimana preseden menanggapi kriteria fisik, energi, material dan ekologi dari prinsip eco design.
