Abstract

Siswa kelas 5 pada Sekolah Dasar X merupakan siswa yang berasal dari tingkat ekonomi menengah ke atas, dan memiliki kemampuan bahasa Indonesia yang cukup. Melalui proses pembelajaran selama satu unit, siswa akan belajar mengenai salah satu jenis teks yaitu teks eksplanasi. Melalui teks ini, siswa diharapkan dapat melihat bagaimana fungsi teks eksplanasi sebagai jenis teks yang menjelaskan sebab dan akibat dari terjadinya suatu fenomena dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, dan mampu memuliakan Allah yang berdaulat atas seluruh fenomena yang terjadi dalam kehidupan manusia. Strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam unit ini adalah strategi pembelajaran inkuiri. Hasil pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa dari 19 orang siswa, 4 siswa memperoleh nilai >80 untuk penilaian formatif berupa penulisan buram/draft awal dari pengerjaan sumatif, 9 orang siswa mendapat nilai ≥70, dan 6 siswa mendapat nilai di bawah KKM atau <70. Berdasarkan analisis kelas secara keseluruhan, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa area yang harus menjadi fokus perkembangan dari mayoritas siswa adalah dalam hal penulisan kata dan kalimat. Penulis juga menyadari bahwa keaktifan siswa di kelas kurang diimbangi dengan adanya pemberian instruksi yang jelas dan tegas dari guru, sehingga hal yang masih perlu diperbaiki oleh penulis dalam pengajaran di masa depan adalah penggunaan bahasa yang lebih sederhana dalam memberikan instruksi. Kedisiplinan siswa dalam berperilaku di dalam kelas juga menjadi salah satu hal yang perlu dikembangkan di masa depan, sehingga guru perlu berupaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan untuk memanajemen kelas, salah satunya dengan memberikan peraturan dan prosedur kelas sebelum memulai pembelajaran. / Grade 5 students at Elementary School X are students from the middle to upper economic level, and have sufficient Indonesian language skills. Through the learning process for the entire unit, students will learn about a type of text, namely explanatory text. Through this text, students are expected to be able to see how explanatory text functions as a type of text that explains the causes and consequences of a phenomenon in everyday life, and is able to glorify God who is sovereign over all phenomena that occur in human life. The learning strategy used in this unit is an inquiry learning strategy. The learning results show that out of 19 students, 4 students got a score of >80 for the formative assessment in the form of a first draft of summative test, 9 students got a score of ≥70, and 6 students got a score below the standard of minimum completeness or <70. Based on the overall class analysis, the author concludes that the area that should be the focus of development for the majority of students is in terms of writing words and sentences. The author also realizes that student’ activities in class are not balanced by giving clear and firm instructions from the teacher, so the author still need to improve in using a more simple language in giving instructions. Student discipline in behaving in the classroom is also one of the things that needs to be evaluated for future teaching, so teachers need to make efforts to improve their ability to manage the class, one of which is by providing class rules and procedures before starting learning.
