Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kesehatan mental merupakan isu yang signifikan dalam bidang kesehatan, baik di tingkat global maupun di Indonesia. Studi menunjukkan prevalensi depresi di kalangan mahasiswa kedokteran lebih tinggi dibandingkan populasi umum, disebabkan oleh tekanan akademik, ekspektasi yang tinggi, dan stres sosial. Dampak depresi pada mahasiswa kedokteran meliputi penurunan kinerja akademik dan potensi gangguan pada proses pendidikan dan masa depan profesional. Hasil beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa preklinik tingkat awal memiliki tingkat depresi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa preklinik tingkat akhir dan beberapa penelitian lainnya menunjukkan hasil yang kontradiktif, maka peneliti sebagai mahasiswa kedokteran ingin melihat perbandingan tingkat depresi pada mahasiswa preklinik tingkat awal dan akhir di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan tingkat depresi pada mahasiswa preklinik tingkat awal dan akhir Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan studi analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan dengan cara cross-sectional yang dilakukan terhadap 333 mahasiswa preklinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan Angkatan 2021 dan 2023, Lippo Village, Karawaci, Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia pada Bulan Januari 2024-Maret 2024. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui google form yang berisi lembar persetujuan (informed consent), kuesioner data pribadi, kuesioner Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI II) dan kuesioner Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. Data yang dikumpulkan ditabulasikan ke dalam aplikasi Microsoft Excel 2021, lalu dianalisis menggunakan program Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) versi 26 menggunakan uji statistik metode chi square. Hasil Penelitian: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai p = 0.348 di mana lebih besar dari level signifikansi yang digunakan (p-value = 0.05) Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik antara tingkat depresi pada mahasiswa preklinik tingkat awal dan akhir Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. / Background: Mental health is a significant issue in the health sector, both at the global level and in Indonesia. Studies show that the prevalence of depression among medical students is higher than in the general population, caused by academic pressure, high expectations, and social stress. The impact of depression on medical students includes decreased academic performance and potential disruption to the educational process and professional future. The results of several studies show that early pre-clinical students have higher levels of depression than final-level preclinical students and several other studies show contradictory results, so researchers as medical students want to see a comparison of depression levels in early and final-level pre-clinical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Research Objectives: This study aims to determine whether there are differences in levels of depression in early and final level pre-clinical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Research Method: This research uses an unpaired categorical comparative analytical study using a cross-sectional method conducted on 333 pre-clinical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University class of 2021 and 2023, Lippo Village, Karawaci, Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia in January 2024 - March 2024. Data collection was carried out via a google form which contained an informed consent sheet, a personal data questionnaire, the Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI II) questionnaire and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support questionnaire. The data collected will be tabulated into the Microsoft Excel 2021 application, then analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26 program using the chi square statistical test method. Research result: Based on the research results, it shows that the p-value = 0.348 which is greater than the significance level used (p-value = 0.05) Conclusion: There was no statistically significant difference between the level of depression in initial and final level pre-clinical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University.
