Abstract

Angka perceraian di Indonesia terus meningkat setiap tahunnya dan semakin banyak anak-anak yang terpengaruhi oleh perceraian orang tua mereka. Banyak penelitian berusaha memahami dampak perceraian terhadap anak-anak ini ketika mereka tumbuh dewasa, terutama pengaruh perceraian orang tua terhadap marital attitudes yang dimiliki oleh dewasa muda. Namun, hasil penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya terkait efek perceraian orang tua terhadap marital attitudes yang dimiliki oleh dewasa muda masih belum jelas. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur keluarga tidak terkait dengan marital attitudes dan penelitian lain menunjukkan bahwa ada korelasi yang signifikan antara struktur keluarga dan marital attitudes. Oleh karena itu, studi ini ditujukan untuk melihat apakah terdapat perbedaan marital attitudes yang signifikan antara dewasa muda dari keluarga utuh dan bercerai. Penelitian ini melibatkan 120 partisipan dewasa muda yang berasal dari keluarga utuh dan bercerai yang dipilih dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dan merupakan studi diferensial. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Marital Attitude Scale (MAS). Hasil menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan marital attitudes yang signifikan antara dewasa muda dari keluarga utuh dan bercerai (t(120) = 2.15, p<.05). Penemuan lain yang berkaitan dengan variabel penelitian juga didiskusikan dalam studi ini. / The divorce rates in Indonesia continue to increase every year and more children are affected by their parents' divorce. Many researches have worked to understand the impact of divorce experience has on these children as they grow up. In particular, the impact of a parental divorce on young adult’s marital attitudes. However, prior research has been unclear about the effects parental divorce has on the marital attitudes of young adults. Some research indicating that family structure is not associated with attitudes towards marriage, and other studies indicating that there is a significant correlation between family structure and attitudes about marriage. Therefore, this study aims to see whether there were significant differences in marital attitudes between young adults from intact and divorced families. This study involved 120 young adult participants who came from intact and divorced families selected using purposive sampling. This research uses quantitative research methods and is a differential study. The measuring instrument used in this study is Marital Attitude Scale (MAS). Results show that there are significant differences in marital attitudes between young adults from intact and divorced families (t (120) = 2.15, p <.05). Other findings are also discussed in this study.
