Abstract
The demand for visual communication in the era of digital technology increases the importance of proper visual communication design. The application developed by Yang (2018) simplifies the process of designing a good visual communication, especially in color harmony. Color harmony is a series of combinations of colors that are balanced and aesthetically pleasing for visual perception. This paper discusses the implementation of additional features to the Color Harmonization application developed by Yang (2018) so that it can be more easily used and understood for the general public. This paper also measure the application performance and expert subjective assessment of the level of color harmony in the application output. The manual harmonization operation feature was added to the application based on Cohen-Or's (2006) color harmonization theory. Furthermore, the application can recommend a color palette that matches the image that has been harmonized using the Kmeans clustering algorithm. Finally, multithreading and GUI are added to the application to improve the visual appearance so that it is easy to operate the application. Application performance testing is done by measuring the time required for the application to run the search for the best harmony scheme on 5 sample images with resolution sizes of 640x480, 800x600, 960x720, 1024x768, 1280x960, 1440x1080, 1600x1200, and 1920x1440. The data generated in the test shows that the fastest time that can be achieved is 188.95 seconds for 640x480 resolution and the longest time that can be achieved is 1586.16 seconds for 1600x1200 resolution.. Next, the subjective expert assessment test of the level of color harmony in the application output is tested by survey to respondents who have experience in visual communication design. The sample images consists of 10 harmonious images and 10 non-harmonious images. The measurement is done by measuring the assessment given by the respondent to the output image of the application and taking the average value of the assessment. The survey results show that the total average rating of the application output in harmonious samples is 8.93 out of 12.00. The output rating of the application in non-harmonized samples is 5.95 out of 12.00. /Kebutuhan sarana komunikasi visual di era teknologi digital meningkatkan pentingnya tata desain komunikasi visual yang baik. Aplikasi yang dikembangkan oleh Yang (2018) mempermudah proses desain komunikasi visual yang baik khususnya di dalam harmoni warna. Harmoni warna atau disebut juga Color Harmony adalah serangkaian kombinasi warna yang seimbang dan secara estetik baik terhadap persepsi visual. Tugas akhir ini membahas mengenai penambahan fitur pada aplikasi Color Harmonization yang dikembangkan oleh Yang (2018) sehingga dapat lebih mudah digunakan untuk kalangan umum. Tugas akhir ini juga menguji performa aplikasi dan penilaian subjektif expert terhadap tingkat keharmonisan warna pada output aplikasi. Fitur operasi harmonisasi manual ditambahkan pada aplikasi berdasarkan teori harmonisasi warna oleh Cohen-Or (2006). Selanjutnya, aplikasi dapat merekomendasikan color palette yang sesuai dengan gambar yang telah diharmonisasi dengan menggunakan algoritma K-means clustering. Terakhir, multithreading dan GUI ditambahkan pada aplikasi untuk meningkatkan tampilan visual agar mudah dimengerti penggunaan aplikasi tersebut. Pengujian performa aplikasi dilakukan dengan mengukur waktu yang diperlukan aplikasi untuk menjalankan pencarian skema harmoni terbaik pada 5 sampel gambar dengan ukuran resolusi 640x480, 800x600, 960x720, 1024x768, 1280x960, 1440x1080, 1600x1200, dan 1920x1440. Data yang dihasilkan pada pengujian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa waktu tercepat yang bisa dicapai adalah 188.95 detik untuk resolusi 640x480 dan waktu terlama yang bisa dicapai adalah 1586.16 detik untuk resolusi 1600x1200. Selanjutnya, pengujian penilaian subjektif expert terhadap tingkat keharmonisan warna pada output aplikasi diuji dengan metode survey kepada responden yang memiliki pengalaman di dalam desain komunikasi visual. Sampel gambar terdiri dari 10 gambar yang harmonis dan 10 gambar yang tidak harmonis. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan mengukur penilaian yang diberikan oleh responden terhadap output gambar aplikasi dan mengambil nilai rata-rata dari penilaian tersebut. Hasil survey menunjukkan total rata-rata rating output aplikasi pada sampel yang harmonis bernilai 8.93 dari 12.00. Rating output aplikasi pada sampel yang tidak harmonis bernilai 5.95 dari 12.00.
