Abstract

Tourism is a big potential for the advancement of the entire world economy, especially in Indonesia. Based on UNWTO estimation, tourists under the age of 35, generation Y and generation Z whom classified as future tourist, will take around 320 million international trips in 2020. In addition, based on BPS in 2017, the distribution of the population who travel, shows that generation Z (15-24 years) has a greater percentage than generation Y (25-34 years). The purpose of this study is to identify the preference behavior of Z generation consumers in traveling. The data collection method is done by proportional sampling. The questionnaire was distributed through social media by sending a Google Form link. Data processing is performed by validity check, reliability check, and processing of respondent profile and demographic data frequency, importance level, and Travel Behavior Measure (TBM). Through this study, the consumer behavior preferences of the generation Z in traveling based on TBM, is: motivated by physical motivation - mind and body refreshment goals (27.02%); transportation information sources come from personal information - family (15.70%), accommodation information comes from personal information - family (14.24%), culinary information comes from personal information - family (20.03%), and travel destination information comes from personal information - friends (17.03%); domestic future destination - Bali (14.16%) and Overseas future destination - Japan (12.68%), the types of Domestic and Overseas activities are sightseeing natural scenery (14.88% and 12.93% respectively), and destination evaluation criteria is local natural beauty (9.66%). Pariwisata merupakan potensi besar bagi kemajuan perekonomian seluruh dunia khususnya di Indonesia. Yang tergolong wisatawan masa depan adalah generasi Y dan generasi Z, karena didasari oleh perkiraan OPD PBB yaitu pada tahun 2020, wisatawan yang berada di bawah usia 35 tahun akan mengambil sekitar 320 juta perjalanan internasional. Selain itu, berdasarkan BPS pada tahun 2017, distribusi penduduk yang melakukan perjalanan, menunjukkan generasi Z (15-24 tahun) memiliki persentase yang lebih besar daripada generasi Y (25-34 tahun). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi preferensi perilaku konsumen generasi Z dalam melakukan traveling. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan proportional sampling. Kuesioner disebarkan melalui media sosial dengan mengirimkan link Google Form. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, dan pengolahan frekuensi data profil dan demografis responden, tingkat kepentingan, serta Travel Behavior Measure. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, hasil preferensi perilaku konsumen generasi Z dalam melakukan kegiatan traveling berdasarkan TBM dengan jawaban tertinggi, yaitu: dimotivasi oleh motivasi fisik- tujuan penyegaran pikiran dan tubuh (27,02%); sumber informasi transportasi berasal dari informasi pribadi-keluarga (15,70%), informasi penginapan berasal dari informasi pribadi-keluarga (14,24%), informasi tempat makan berasal dari informasi pribadi-keluarga (20,03%), dan informasi tempat wisata berasal dari informasi pribadi-teman (17,03%); destinasi masa depan Dalam Negeri-Bali (14,16%) dan Luar Negeri-Jepang (12,68%), jenis aktivitas Dalam dan Luar Negeri yaitu melihat pemandangan alam (masing-masing 14,88% dan 12,93%), dan kriteria evaluasi destinasi adalah keindahan alam setempat (9,66%).
