Abstract

Pada masa ini, di masa perkembangan teknologi yang sangat cepat. Melalui internet seseorang dapat memperoleh anonimitas dalam bertindak serta berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Namun seringkali hal ini dimanfaatkan secara negatif oleh banyak orang. Kurangnya kesadaran diri dalam berpikir sebelum bertindak merupakan salah satu faktor dari hal tersebut. Tindakan tersebut dapat dihindari apabila masyarakat mengenal konsep karma, yang dapat dipelajari dari kisah novel “The Journey to the west”. Concept art merupakan salah satu medium yang dapat menbantu untuk mengantarkan kisah novel “The Journey to the west” menjadi lebih baik, melalui perancangan visualisasi yang matang, serta eksplorasi visual sesuai dengan konsep karma yang ingin diperkenalkan kembali. Fokus utama pada perancangan concept art ditargetkan pada media video game, yang disesuaikan dengan visualisasi konsep karma dalam bertindak, dimana melalui video game menjadi interaktif. Kemudian melalui perencanaan yang telah dibuat, dilakukan riset terhadap novel “Journey to the west”, yang kemudian dirancang dalam bentuk concept art yang berfokus pada proses Pre-Production, dengan judul proyek bernama “Karmic” / Nowadays, in the era where technological advancement has advanced rapidly. Through the internet a person could obtain anonymity when they acted and interacting with other people. However, oftentimes this thing was used in a negative manner by a lot of people. The lack of self awareness in to think before act on something was one of the factors. That kind of behavior could be avoided if the public knows about the concept of karma, that could be learnt through “The Journey to the west” novel. Concept art is one of the mediums that could help in delivering the stories from “The Journey to the west” to become even better, through a well thought visualization design, and visual exploration that is suitable with the concept of karma that is going to be reintroduced. The main focus in this concept art design is for video game medium, in which it was adjusted with the visualization of the karma concept in taking action, where through video game it became interactive. Then from the plan that has been made, researches were done for the “Journey to the west” novel. And from there it was designed in the form of concept art that focused in the Pre-Production process, with the title of the project named as “Karmic
