Abstract

Perkembangan media internet telah membawa dampak yang begitu besar bagi cara manusia hidup dan berkomunikasi. Instagram adalah salah satu media yang mewujudkan terjadi perubahan itu. Seiring berjalannya waktu, media sosial Instagram tidak hanya digunakan untuk berkomunikasi namun dapat juga dimanfaatkan untuk memasarkan sebuah produk. Universitas Pelita Harapan atau UPH merupakan salah satu universitas swasta di Indonesia, yang memiliki Program Kelas Karyawan. Program ini bertujuan untuk memberikan peluang bagi masyarakat yang bekerja namun belum mencapai jenjang pendidikan Strata 1 (S1) agar dapat melanjutkan pendidikan sampai jenjang tersebut. Dalam usaha untuk memasarkan program tersebut, UPH memanfaatkan media sosial Instagram untuk memperkenalkan serta menarik minat target pemasaran. Melalui Instagram, UPH dapat menjangkau target pemasaran secara lebih luas tanpa batasan ruang. Bentuk promosi yang digunakan oleh UPH untuk memasarkan Program Kelas Karyawan melalui Instagram salah satunya adalah pemasangan iklan berbayar. Iklan merupakan salah satu bentuk dari konsep bauran promosi, yang bertujuan untuk menjangkau masyarakat dengan luas dan cepat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif. Peneliti melakukan pengumpulan data dengan teknik wawancara mendalam dan observasi pada program kelas karyawan UPH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pemasaran yang dilakukan UPH adalah dengan menggunakan media sosial Instagram sebagai media yang tepat untuk memasarkan Program Kelas Karyawan UPH. / The development of Internet media has brought such great impact to the way people live and communicate. Instagram is one of the media that embodies that change. As time goes by, Instagram social media is not only used to communicate but can also be used to market a product. Universitas Pelita Harapan or UPH is one of the private universities in Indonesia, which has an employee class Program. This Program aims to provide opportunities for people who work but have not reached the education level of Strata 1 (S1) to continue their education until the level. In an effort to market the program, UPH leverages Instagram's social media to introduce and attract targeted marketing. Through Instagram, UPH can reach a wider marketing target without space constraints. The form of promotion used by UPH to market employee class Program via Instagram is one of the paid advertisement. Advertising is one form of the concept of promotional mix, which aims to reach the community broadly and quickly. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive research methods. Data collection is done by in-depth interview techniques and observations on UPH's class program employees. The results showed that UPH's marketing strategy was to use Instagram social media as the right medium to market UPH employee class programs.
