Abstract

Mahasiswa mengalami berbagai tantangan dalam transisi perkembangannya, baik dalam relasi maupun akademik. Berbagai tantangan tersebut tidak jarang membuat dilema bahkan yang paling ekstrim sampai mengakhiri hidup. Menghadapai berbagai kondisi tersebut tak jarang membuat mahasiswa mempertanyakan meaning keberadaannya. Dalam mengahadapi berbagai tantangan yang ada, secara biologis individu mengaktifkan behavioral attachment system dengan mencari figure attachment yang dapat memberikan rasa aman dan mendukung dalam menghadapi tantangan. Figure attachment pada saat dewasa bukan hanya dari orang tua, tetapi bisa dari teman sebaya, saudara ataupun pasangan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian dilakuakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh adult attachment terhadap meaning in life pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kuantitatitf dengan menggunakan teknik convenience sampling yang dilakukan pada 164 mahasiswa di daerah Jabodetabek. Alat ukur yang digunakan ECR-R-GSF untuk adult attachment dan MLQ untuk meaning in life. Adapun hasil yang didapatkan menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dari dimensi anxiety dan avoidance terhadap presence of meaning sebesar 8,6%. Sementara itu, untuk dimensi anxiety dan avoidance terhadap search for meaning, tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan. / Students experience various challenges in their transition development, both in relationships and academics. These challenges often make dilemmas and the most extreme to end life. Facing these conditions often makes students question the meaning of their existence. In facing various challenges, biologically the individual activates the behavioral attachment system by looking for figure attachments that can provide a sense of security and support in facing challenges. Figure attachment as an adult is not only from parents, but from peers, relatives or spouses. Therefore, the research was conducted with the aim to determine the effects of adult attachment on meaning in life in college students. This quantitative study uses convenience sampling technique, participated by 164 college students in Jabodetabek. Measuring instruments used by the ECR-R-GSF for adult attachments and MLQ for meaning in life. The results obtained indicate that there is a significant influence of anxiety and avoidance dimensions on the presence of meaning by 8.6%. Meanwhile, for the dimensions of anxiety and avoidance towards search for meaning, there was no significant effect.
