Abstract

Obesity is defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation and can increase the risk of chronic disease. In the year 2007, Indonesia has as many as 18.8% of people were diagnosed as obese and it kept increasing to 26.6% in 2013. There are many factors that can affect obesity in medical students taking in the form of diet, family history, physical activity, use of cigarettes, and social status This study is analytical and uses cross-sectional study designs. The population in this study were Pelita Harapan Medical Students class of 2015-2017. There were 491 acquired using comparable categoric analysis of two unrelated groups study. Subjects were chosen with random sampling technique. The results of this research was analyzed using chi square statistical test and regression logistic Of the 491 respondents who entered this study, 113 (23.01%) respondents was in the obesity category and 318 (76,99%) entered the normal category. The odd ratio of physical activity is 0.462 (95% CI, 0.288-0.741), dietary factors 3.043 (95% CI, 1.659-5.605), smoking 7.601 (95% CI, 2.9-19.321), and family history 2.060 (95% CI, 1.266-3.525). The prevalence of obesity in Pelita Harapan Medical Students was 23%. There is a association between physical activity, fatty diet, smoking, and family history with obesity / Obesitas di definisikan sebagai akumulasi lemak abnormal atau berlebihan dan dapat meningkatkan risiko penyakit kronis. Di Indonesia sendiri, pada tahun 2007, sebanyak 18,8% orang di Indonesia mengalami obesitas dan meningkat menjadi 26,6% pada tahun 2013. Faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi obesitas dalam mahasiswa kedokteran berupa pola makan, riwayat keluarga, aktivitas fisik, penggunaan rokok, dan status sosial Penelitian ini bersifat analitik dan menggunakan desain studi potong melintang. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran UPH angkatan 2015 - 2017. Terdapat 491 sampel yang ditetapkan dengan penggunaan studi analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan dua kelompok. Pengambilan sampel akan menggunakan Teknik random sampling. Hasil dari pengambilan data sampel akan di analisa menggunakan aplikasi SPSS. Analisis univariat menggunakan tabel, grafik, dan pie chart. Analisis bivariat dilakukan tes Chi Square akan digunakan dengan nilai p <0.05 signifikan. Dari 491 responden yang masuk ke dalam faktor inklusi, 113 (23,01%) orang masuk ke dalam kategori obesitas dan 318 (76,99%) masuk ke dalam kategori tidak obesitas. Odd Ratio aktivitas fisik 0,462 (95% CI, 0,288-0,741), pola makan berlemak 3,043 (95% CI, 1,653-5,605), Merokok 7,601 (95% CI, 2,9-19,921), dan riwayat keluarga 2,060 (95% CI, 1,266-3,352). Prevalensi obesitas pada mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran UPH adalah 23%, Ada hubungan antara aktivitas fisik, pola makan berlemak, merokok, dan riwayat keluarga dan obesitas.
