Abstract

Definition of dyspepsia based on PGI is discomfort in the uper abdomen. Uninvestigated dyspepsia is a term refers to new case of dyspepsia or recurrent dyspepsia in whom no investigations have previously been undertaken. There are a lot of studies providing the relationship between anxiety and dyspepsia but only few links anxiety and uninvestigated dyspepsia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relation between anxiety and uninvestigated dyspepsia and prevalence of both variables on medical students of Pelita Harapan University batch 2015. This experiment used cross sectional study. The sample of this study were medical students of Pelita Harapan University as much as 173 people then 11 people being excluded which result in 162 people. The data collected on February - April 2018. The ethics of research approval has been approved by the FK UPH Ethics Committee. The result of the study treated with SPSS version 22 and using the Spearman Rank Correlation test. The result of Spearman Rank Correlation test (r = 0.366) show there was a weak correlation between anxiety and uninvestigated dyspepsia on medical student of Pelita Harapan University batch 2015. The result of this study was significant with p value <0.05 (0.000) The conclusion of this study was the existence of relationship between anxiety and uninvestigated dyspepsia on medical students of Pelita Harapan University batch 2015 / Dispepsia berdasarkan Perkumpulan Gastroenterologi Indonesia (PGI) adalah rasa tidak nyaman di daerah abdomen bagian atas. Dispepsia belum diinvestigasi adalah dispepsia kasus baru atau berulang yang belum pernah dilakukan pemeriksaan penunjang sebelumnya. Sudah banyak yang mengkaitkan kecemasan dengan dispepsia namun belum banyak yang mengkaitkan kecemasan pada dispepsia belum diinvestigasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecemasan dan dispepsia belum diinvestigasi serta prevalensi kedua variabel pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi potong lintang. Total responden berjumlah 173 mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran UPH yang kemudian 11 di antaranya masuk faktor eksklusi dan menyisakan 162 mahasiswa. Pengambilan data dilakukan Februari - April 2018. Etika persetujuan penelitian telah disetujui oleh Komite Etik FK UPH. Hasil penelitian diolah dengan SPSS versi 22 dengan menggunakan uji Spearman Rank Correlation. Hasil uji Spearman Rank Correlation (r = 0,366) menunjukan adanya hubungan lemah antara kecemasan dengan dispepsia belum diinvestigasi pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2015. Hasil penelitian signifikan dan bermakna secara statistik dengan p <0,05 (0,000). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah adanya hubungan antara kecemasan dan dispepsia belum diinvestigasi pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2015.
