Abstract

Mahasiswa/i organisator cenderung memiliki tingkat stres dan tekanan yang lebih tinggi. Hal ini disebabkan karena peran ganda yang harus mereka jalankan sehingga tanggung jawab yang harus diselesaikan juga lebih banyak dan sumber stres yang lebih banyak pula daripada mahasiswa/i biasa. Hal ini dapat menghambat perkembangan individual resources individu seperti sense of coherence dan berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan mental individu. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang berasal dari dalam diri individu yang dapat membantu mengatasi masalah tersebut. Penelitian sebelumnya menyatakan bahwa gratitude dan positive reframing dapat membantu meningkatkan sense of coherence. Namun, bukti serupa belum ditemukan pada mahasiswa/i organisator, sehingga, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh kedua variabel tersebut terhadap sense of coherence pada mahasiswa/i organisator. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 140 partisipan yang merupakan mahasiswa/i organisator aktif di Universitas Pelita Harapan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dan kuesioner GQ-6, PRM, dan SOC-13 digunakan untuk mengukur ketiga variabel penelitian. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari gratitude dan positive reframing terhadap sense of coherence (R2 = .17, β1 = .35, β2 = .15, p<.05) beserta seluruh dimensinya pada mahasiswa/i organisator. Pengaruh kedua variabel secara bersamaan juga lebih besar daripada secara terpisah. Penemuan lain yang berkaitan dengan ketiga variabel juga didiskusikan dalam penelitian ini./ Students who are involved in an organization tend to experience higher level of stress due to higher amount of responsibilities and stressors regarding their dual roles. This may result in slower development of important individual resources such as sense of coherence and negative effect on individual’s mental health. Some individual factors significantly contribute in overcoming this issue. Previous study showed that gratitude and positive reframing had major contribution in increasing the level of sense of coherence. However, similar findings have not been reported in any previous literatures regarding student activist’s level of sense of coherence. Therefore, this study intended to provide evidence regarding the effect of both variables on student activists’ level of sense of coherence in Universitas Pelita Harapan. 140 students who were active members of an organization in Universitas Pelita Harapan participated in this study. GQ-6, PRM, & SOC-13 were used to measure all variables. The results revealed that gratitude and positive reframing had a significant effect on student activists’ level of sense of coherence in Universitas Pelita Harapan (R2 = .17, β1 = .35, β2 = .15, p<.05). The effect of both variables combined were greater than seperated. Other findings were discussed further in this study.
