Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan perancangan dan pengembangan dalam aspek edukasi yaitu Smart Classroom. Smart Classroom dapat memudahkan sistem belajar mengajar baik untuk dosen maupun mahasiswa, dimulai dari absensi manual yang digantikan dengan Smart Attendance yang merupakan salah satu hal penting dalam mengubah mode pembelajaran tradisional. Dari hasil kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada mahasiswa dan dosen berbagai universitas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem absensi pada universitas mereka masih kurang efektif dan terjadi banyak kecurangan baik dalam absensi maupun pengumpulan tugas. Kecurangan dalam melakukan absensi dan pengumpulan tugas/ujian terjadi karena banyak mahasiswa yang tidak hadir meminta temannya yang hadir untuk titip absen dan mengerjakan tugas/ujian nya yang kemudian dikumpulkan oleh temannya tersebut. Sistem Smart Classroom dilengkapi dengan modul sensor fingerprint scanner untuk absensi dan modul sensor QR barcode scanner untuk pengumpulan tugas/ujian. Modul-modul sensor tersebut dikendalikan oleh mikrokontroler, yaitu Arduino Mega 2560. Sistem Smart Classroom juga dilengkapi dengan database & website sebagai pengelola data-data yang dibutuhkan. Diharapkan dengan adanya sistem Smart Classroom ini dapat meningkatkan efektifitas baik dalam melakukan absensi maupun pengumpulan tugas supaya minim kecurangan. Tingkat keberhasilan pada sistem Smart Classroom ini dinyatakan mencapai 100% karena berhasil dalam melakukan absensi dan juga pengumpulan tugas sesuai yang diharapkan. / This study aims to carry out design and development in the educational aspect through the Smart Classroom. Smart Classroom can facilitate the teaching and learning system for both lecturers and students, ranging from manual attendance which is replaced with Smart Attendance, which is one of the important elements in changing the traditional learning mode. Based on the results of the questionnaire distributed to students and lecturers of various universities, it can be concluded that the attendance system at their university is still ineffective and there are many cheats both in attendance and assignment submission. Cheating in the absence and assignment/test submission occurs because many students who do not attend the class ask their friends to mark their presence and do their assignment/test which is then submitted by their friends. The Smart Classroom system is provided with a fingerprint scanner module for attendance and a QR barcode scanner module for assignment/test submission. These modules are controlled by a microcontroller, Arduino Mega 2560. The Smart Classroom system is also equipped with a database & website as a manager of the data needed. It is expected that the existence of the Smart Classroom system can increase effectiveness, both in making attendance and task submission so that cheating is reduced. The success rate on this Smart Classroom system is stated to reach 100% as it is successful in making attendance and task submission as expected.
