Abstract

Emerging adulthood merupakan sebuah masa transisi dari remaja akhir menuju masa dewasa. Pada usia tersebut remaja yang baru lulus dari sekolah menengah atas akan melanjutkan pendidikannya hingga ke perguruan tinggi yang juga disebut sebagai mahasiswa. Dalam masa peralihan SMA menuju perguruan tinggi, mahasiswa akan mengalami berbagai kesulitan, baik kesulitan secara akademik maupun non-akademik. pada tahun pertama, mahasiswa akan mengalami berbagai masalah jika tidak berhasil dalam beradaptasi dengan lingkungan barunya seperti sulit untuk menjalin relasi dengan orang lain, sulit berkomunikasi dengan orang lain, sulit menjalani perkuliahan dengan baik, sulit menjalani tuntutan sehingga mengakibatkan frustasi, dan cenderung menutup diri. Maka dari itu, mahasiswa pada tahun pertama harus memiliki regulasi diri yang baik agar dapat beradaptasi dari sebuah keadaan yang tidak sesuai menjadi sesuai. Melihat pola tersebut maka, peneliti melakukan penelitian untuk melihat hubungan antara regulasi diri dengan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa keguruan tahun pertama di Universitas X. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa keguruan tahun pertama di Universitas X adalah sebanyak 283 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk mengukur regulasi diri adalah Skala Regulasi Diri dan untuk penyesuaian diri adalah Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ). Kedua alat ukur tersebut merupakan versi yang telah diadaptasi. / Emerging adulthood is a transition from late adolescence to adulthood. At this age, teenagers who have just graduated from high school will continue their study to college, which these teenagers will be called as college students. During this transition period, college students will experience various difficulties, both academically and non-academically. In the first year, they will experience various problems if they are not able to adapt with their new environment, such as in building relationships, communicating with others, undergoing the lectures process, fulfilling many expectations that will lead to frustration, and tendency to be introvert. Therefore, first-year college students must have good self-regulation in order to be able to adapt with the new environment. Seeing this pattern, the researcher conducted a study to look at the relationship between self-regulation and self-adjustment of first-year teacher students at X University. There are 283 of first-year teacher students at X University as the population of this study. The research instrument used to measure self-regulation is the Self-Regulation Scale and for self-adjustment is the Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ). Both of the instruments are the adapted versions.
