Abstract

Background: Low Birth Weight is a condition for a baby’s birth weight that measured right after the delivery and below its normal level, which is 2500gram. On 2015, Indonesia has been ranked ninth in the world with 15,5%. Socioeconomic status is a status that people gets on their social life based on education, jobs and wealth they have. Aim: This research aim to perceive the relation between low birth weight and factors that contribute low socioeconomic status in Kabupaten Tangerang. Materials and Methods: The methods use in this research is analytic study with cross-sectional design. Subject selection will be taken by non-random and purposive sampling then analyzed with a method called simple logistic-regression. The research data is using primary data among 96 samples with the population under study are newborns that were obtained from maternal antenatal care book that located in Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Lippo Village dan Puskesmas Kota Bumi and by interviewing selected subject to collect useful information due to continuation of this research. Results: Among 96 subject, 41 of them delivered baby with low birth weight and 65,7% subject have low education. Simple logistic-regression analysis showed low education associated with low birth weight (p 0,001 AOR 5,329 CI 95% 2,059 – 13,789). There were no association between low birth weight with low family’s income neither with mother’s occupation (p 0,324 AOR 0,556 CI 95% 0,173 – 1,787). Conclusion: There is a significant association between mother’s low education and low birth weight in Kabupaten Tangerang / Latar Belakang: Berat Badan Lahir Rendah (BBLR) merupakan suatu kondisi pada bayi dimana berat badan bayi dibawah 2500gram pada saat dilahirkan dan Indonesia berada di peringkat ke-9 dunia pada tahun 2015 dengan presentase 15,5%. Status sosial ekonomi adalah kedudukan suatu individu dalam bermasyarakat berdasarkan unsur-unsur yang mempengaruhi yaitu; pendidikan, pekerjaan dan penghasilan. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Berat Badan Lahir Rendah (BBLR) dengan faktor sosial ekonomi rendah di Kabupaten Tangerang Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi analitik, desain penelitian potong lintang dengan cara non-random dan purposive sampling yang di analisis menggunakan logistik-regresi sederhana. Pengambilan data sebanyak 96 sampel dengan populasi penelitian adalah bayi baru lahir dan menggunakan data primer yang didapatkan dari buku antenatal-care ibu di Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Lippo Village dan Puskesmas Kota Bumi. Hasil: Dari 96 subjek, 41 subjek diantaranya melahirkan bayi dengan Berat Badan Lahir Rendah (BBLR) dan 65,7% memiliki pendidikan yang rendah. Hasil analisis dengan regresi logistik sederhana menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang bermakna antara pendidikan ibu yang rendah dengan kejadian BBLR dengan nilai p-value 0,001 dan AOR 5,329 (95 CI 2,059 – 13,789). Sedangkan penghasilan dan pekerjaan ibu tidak menunjukkan adanya asosiasi yang bermakna dengan kejadian BBLR dengan nilai p-value 0,324 AOR 0,556 (95% CI 0,173 – 1,787). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pendidikan ibu yang dengan kejadian BBLR di Kabupaten Tangerang.
