Abstract

Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM) is one of the most common chronic ear infections with increasing prevalence in the world, which is in 2015, according to Kementrian Kesehatan Indonesia, reported that 3% from 220 milion population of Indonesia, around 6.6 milion of the population, suffered from CSOM. As we know, CSOM can lead to lower quality of life of the patient. This study aimed to see an improvement in the CSOM patient’s quality of life after typanomastoidectomy at Siloam Hospital Tangerang. This research in the period of February 2018 to July 2018 is a quantitative analytical study conducted by the prospective (cohort) method. The amount of the sample was determined by paired numeric comparative analytic design. Researcher will distribute a Chronic Otitis Media Outcome Test-15 (COMOT-15) questionnaire. The result of this research then processed using SPSS 24 which is then tested by Wilcoxon alternative analysis. This study involving 34 CSOM patients, consist of 15 males (44,1%) and 19 females (55,9%). Obtained average quality of life score that is ear symptoms score 77,45 before surgery and 11,76 after surgery with p = <0,001. Hearing function score 68,82 before surgery and 12,15 after surgery with p = <0,001. Mental health score 77,35 before surgery and 19,26 after surgery with p = <0,001. Overall assessment score 82,94 before surgery and 30 after surgery with p = <0,001. So it can be concluded that there is a significant improvement in CSOM patients’ quality of life after tympanomastoidectomy / Otitis Media Supuratif Kronik (OMSK) merupakan salah satu penyakit infeksi telinga kronik yang semakin meningkat prevalensinya di dunia, dimana pada tahun 2015, menurut Kementrian Kesehatan Indonesia, dilaporkan setidaknya 3% dari 220 juta penduduk Indonesia, yaitu sekitar 6,6 juta penduduk Indonesia menderita OMSK. Seperti yang kita ketahui OMSK dapat menurunkan kualitas hidup penderitanya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya perubahan kualitas hidup pasien OMSK sesudah timpanomastoidektomi di Rumah Sakit Siloam Tangerang. Penelitian pada periode Februari 2018 hingga Juli 2018 ini termasuk studi kuantitatif analitik yang dilaksanakan dengan metode prospektif (kohort). Jumlah sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan desain analitik komparatif numerik berpasangan 2 kelompok. Peneliti membagikan kuesioner Chronic Otitis Media Outcome Test-15 (COMOT-15). Hasil penelitian kemudian diolah menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS 24 yang kemudian diuji dengan metode alternatif analisis Wilcoxon. Penelitian ini melibatkan 34 pasien OMSK yang terdiri atas 15 orang (44,1%) laki-laki dan 19 orang (55,9%) perempuan. Diperoleh rerata skor kualitas hidup yaitu skor gejela telinga 77,45 sebelum operasi dan 11,76 sesudah operasi dengan p = <0,001. Skor fungsi pendengaran 68,82 sebelum operasi dan 12,15 sesudah operasi dengan p = <0,001. Skor kesehatan mental 77,35 sebelum operasi dan 19,26 sesudah operasi dengan p = <0,001. Skor keseluruhan 82,94 sebelum operasi dan 30 sesudah operasi dengan p = <0,001. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kualitas hidup secara bermakna pada penderita OMSK sesudah timpanomastoidektomi.
