Abstract

According to GLOBOCAN (Global Burden Cancer) in 2012, the incidence of cancer in women in Indonesia about 134 per 100.000 population with the highest incidence in women is breast cancer that is equal to 40 per 100.000 population. Breast cancer has several risk factors such as aging, menstrual periods, radiation, breastfeeding, smoking and the use of hormonal contraceptives. Hormonal contraceptives itself as a risk factor of breast cancer is still controversial but its use is increasing every year along with increasing incidence of breast cancer. The aim of this study is to search relationship between using of hormonal contraceptives and breast cancer incidence in Indonesia especially in Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Karawaci. This study is using case control design with sampling using Consecutive Sampling technique in 104 respondents consisting of 52 breast cancer patients and 52 patients who did not suffer from breast cancer as a control. Data obtained in this research will be processed using Chi Square statistical test The research results showed that the use of hormonal contraceptives (p=0,038; OR=2,644) had a significant relationship to the incidence of breast cancer in Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Karawaci. Users of hormonal contraceptives have a risk of developing breast cancer 2,644 times greater thanthose who do not use hormonal contraceptives. However, the hormonal contraceptives are not a major risk factor but it is only a light factor to increase the risk of breast cancer. And women especially women in Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Karawaci are expected to be more careful and wise in the use of hormonal contraceptives = Menurut GLOBOCAN (Global Burden Cancer) pada tahun 2012, insiden kanker pada perempuan di Indonesia sekitar 134 per 100.000 penduduk dengan insidens tertinggi kanker pada perempuan adalah kanker payudara yaitu sebesar 40 per 100.000 penduduk. Kanker payudara memilik beberapa faktor risiko seperti usia, periode menstruasi, radiasi, menyusui, merokok dan penggunaan kontrasepsi hormonal. Kontrasepsi hormonal sendiri sebagai faktor risiko dari kanker payudara masih bersifat kontroversial namun penggunaannya semakin meningkat setiap tahun seiring dengan meningkatnya kejadian kanker payudara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penggunaan kontrasepsi hormonal terhadap kejadian kanker payudara di Indonesia yang khususnya di Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Karawaci Desain penelitian ini adalah case control dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Consecutive Sampling pada 104 responden yang terdiri dari 52 pasien kanker payudara dan 52 pasien yang tidak menderita kanker payudara sebagai kontrol. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini akan diolah menggunakan uji statistik Chi Square. Hasil analisis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kontrasepsi hormonal (p=0,038; OR=2,644) mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan terhadap kejadian kanker payudara di Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Karawaci. Pengguna kontrasepsi hormonal memilik risiko untuk mengalami kanker payudara 2,644 kali lebih besar dibandingkan yang tidak menggunakan kontrasepsi hormonal. Namun kontrasepsi hormonal bukan merupakan faktor risiko utama tetapi hanya salah satu faktor yang dapat meningkatkan risiko kanker payudara. Dan para wanita khususnya para wanita di Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam Karawaci diharapkan dapat lebih cermat dan bijaksana dalam penggunaan kontrasepsi hormonal.
