Abstract

A board game is a game that involves counters or pieces moved or placed on a pre-marked surface or "board", according to a set of rules. Games can be based on pure strategy, chance (e.g. rolling dice) or a mixture of the two, and usually have a goal which a player aims to achieve. Early board games represented a battle between two armies, and most current board games are still based on defeating opposing players in terms of counters, winning position or accrual of points (often expressed as in-game currency). Incan Gold is one of board games which is spread in the market. But nowadays, many people prefer to play it on their gadgets or personal computers than playing them manually. In this research, Incan Gold as one of the board game is made into a flash game so it can be played on a personal computer. The player can challenge the computer to be the winner. Of course the computer has been equipped with some knowledge based on the probability theory, so it can give smart and interactive fight. After building the application and going through testing phase, the probability theory used in this thesis prove can make the artificial intelligence can give enough opposition so the game feels so real and the player can enjoy playing the game. The pattern of safe player applied on the game is proven more effective than the risk taker pattern.
