Abstract

Nuclear technology plays an important role for demand of energy, but it also creates conflict and kontrovention. The developing India’s nuclear attract the international issues, it is because United States foreign policy towards India. The United States foreign policy toward India during George W. Bush governance is much difference with the previous one. Bush foreign policy is focus on war on terrorism, national interest on energy resource and avoiding the spread of nuclear weapons. Bush gives a green light for good relationship with India. Beside that, United States also support the nuclear cooperation for civil purpose. The joint statement for nuclear cooperation was held in 2005 and in 2006 it was legally operated. United States cancel the sanctions which was active since 1974. After India gets the special case for nuclear trade for civil use, India will be able to get transfer technology, fuel and nuclear materials form NSG. From the research the cooperation can be success because of United States national power, that makes the lobby goes smoothly. United States and India have the interest in the cooperation and it was needed one and another. But they worried that India use the facilities for developing nuclear weapons. If it was, other countries will also make nuclear weapons and there will be chaos in South Asia. The cooperation on energy have the ability to make an impact on other cooperation, for example economic cooperation.
