Abstract

Seiring dengan berkembangnya zaman, masyarakat semakin terdorong untuk dapat berfikir secara kritis, kreatif, dan inovatif. Individu pun tidak bisa hanya berkutat pada dirinya sendiri untuk dapat menghasilkan pemikiranpemikiran yang baru, oleh karena itu, kolektifitas dan kerja sama antar individu dapat menjadi langkah awal untuk berkembang. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut, pendekatan modular dalam desain dapat menciptakan kebebasan dan fleksibilitas pada sebuah ruang. Karena penggunaannya beberapa tahun terakhir ini, Gudang Sarinah digunakan sebagai bahan studi dengan mengaplikasikan rancangan yang dapat digunakan kolektif. Hasil yang ditemukan menunjukan bahwa pendekatan modular dapat menjawab masalah untuk merancang ekosistem yang bebas dan fleksibel. Para kolektif dapat membentuk ruang dengan bebas sesuai dengan kebutuhannya masing-masing. Selain itu, masih adanya singgungan antar kolektif juga mendorong mereka untuk berinteraksi antar satu sama lain yang akhirnya menciptakan keseimbangan antara kepentingan pribadi dan bersama. / Together with the progressing of era, people are pushed to think more critical, creative, and innovative. Individuals, can’t only struggle with themselves to create new ideas, and with that collectivity and cooperation amongst individual, could be the initial step toward improvement. To satisfy that need, modular approach in a design could lead to freedom and flexibility in a space. Due to its recent usage in the last couple of years, Gudang Sarinah used as the study case to apply a design that could be used by collectives. The result showed that modular approach could answer the problem of designing an ecosystem that free and flexible. All of the collective could shape the space freely according to their own needs. Moreover, the presence of tension between collective will encourage them to interact with each other and thus, creating a balance between individual and group interest.
