Abstract

PT Matahari Department Store, Tbk (MDS) merupakan sebuah organisasi yang bergerak pada bidang fashion retail. Saat ini, MDS sudah memiliki 155 toko. Untuk menghubungkan kantor pusat dengan toko-toko tersebut, MDS memiliki sebuah sistem point of sale (POS). Sistem POS merupakan sebuah sistem integral pada MDS. Mengingat pentingnya sistem point of sale (POS) pada MDS, maka diharapkan dapat dilakukan pemantauan sistem dan alat secara berkala oleh pusat. Dengan banyaknya jumlah toko yang dimiliki, maka dibutuhkan sebuah media atau sistem yang dapat membantu pemantauan tersebut secara berkala melalui satu sumber. Oleh karena itu, diusulkan sebuah sistem yang dapat melakukan pemantauan secara near real time terhadap sistem POS. Sistem usulan ini berupa penempatan masing-masing satu software agent pada sisi server dan mesin POS yang bertugas menarik data. Software agent merupakan sebuah aplikasi yang dapat berjalan otomatis secara berkala. Kedua software agent tersebut dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman VB6 dan VB.NET. Hasil data yang telah diambil kemudian akan divisualisasikan kepada pengguna melalui aplikasi Power BI. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: sistem yang diusulkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi waktu dalam melakukan pemantauan sistem POS, membantu analisa jika terjadi masalah dalam sistem POS, memantau net sales (unaudited), memantau status mesin POS, dan memantau data transaksi. / PT Matahari Department Store, Tbk (MDS) is a fashion retailer organization based in Indonesia. Nowadays, MDS already have 155 stores located in Indonesia. MDS uses POS system to connect the headquarter and their stores. This POS system is one of their integral system. Considering the importance of point of sale (POS) system used by MDS and the amount of stores they have, it is crucial to do periodic system and hardware monitoring. Therefore, this research proposes a system that can do a near real time monitoring to POS system. This proposed system have 2 software agents located in server and POS machine to collect data. Software agent is an automated application to do specific tasks without human interaction. Both software agents were developed with VB6 and VB.NET. All the collected data will be visualized with Power BI. The results of this research shows that there is a significant improvement in time efficiency in order to do periodic POS system monitoring, help problem solving, monitoring net sales (unaudited), monitoring POS machine, and data transaction.
