Abstract

Kecenderungan penggunaan komunikasi berbasis VoIP belakangan ini semakin meningkat yang didorong oleh kebutuhan akan sistem komunikasi dengan biaya murah, mudah, aman, serta fleksibel. Khusus ruang lingkup perkantoran, kampus, dan sebagainya menggunakan jaringan MPLS VPN yang biasa diterapkan oleh penyedia layanan (service provider) jaringan telekomunikasi. Untuk menghasilkan sistem komunikasi berbasis VoIP yang baik dalam jaringan MPLS VPN, maka diperlukan simulasi dan analisis kinerja dengan menerapkan QoS ke dalam jaringan. Simulasi VoIP pada jaringan MPLS VPN dilakukan dengan menggunakan simulator jaringan GNS3 untuk membentuk topologi jaringan MPLS VPN dengan menggunakan router virtual Cisco series, peranti lunak VirtualBox untuk membuat komputer virtual (VM) sebanyak empat buah. Kemudian, peranti lunak berupa softphone Cisco IP Communicator yang terpasang dalam VM untuk perlakuan uji simulasi komunikasi berbasis VoIP. Peranti lunak tftpd32 yang terpasang dalam VM untuk perlakuan simulasi file transfer. Terdapat tiga skenario simulasi, yaitu simulasi VoIP normal, simulasi VoIP dengan beban jaringan, dan simulasi VoIP setelah penerapan QoS. Masing-masing skenario simulasi dilakukan lima kali pengujian menghasilkan total pengujian sebanyak 15 kali. Analisis QoS terhadap pengujian dilakukan dengan menggunakan peranti lunak Wireshark yang ditampilkan ke dalam bentuk statistik dan grafik kinerja jaringan. Hasil akhir analisis simulasi VoIP normal didapatkan telah memenuhi SLA ITU G.114 dengan latency kurang dari 150 ms dan SLA Cisco-powered Networks (CPN) dengan jitter kurang dari 20 ms, dan toleransi packet loss hingga 0,5%. Hasil akhir analisis simulasi VoIP dengan beban jaringan didapatkan tidak memenuhi kedua SLA dengan packet loss yang melebihi toleransi maksimum, yaitu lebih dari 1% untuk SLA ITU G.114. Hasil akhir analisis simulasi VoIP setelah penerapan QoS membuktikan terwujudnya konfigurasi QoS VoIP yang memenuhi SLA ITU G.114 pada latency dan SLA CPN pada jitter dan toleransi packet loss. Hasil tersebut membuktikan bahwa kualitas VoIP dalam simulasi jaringan tetap terjaga dengan baik meskipun adanya beban jaringan. / The tendency to use VoIP-based communications has increased recently, driven by the need for cheap, easy, secure, and flexible communication systems. Especially in the scope of office, campus, and so on using MPLS VPN network which is usually applied by telecommunication network service provider. To produce a good VoIP-based communication system within the MPLS VPN network, simulation and performance analysis is required by applying QoS to the network. The simulation of VoIP on MPLS VPN network is done by using GNS3 network simulator to form MPLS VPN network topology by using Cisco series virtual router, and VirtualBox software to create four virtual computer machine (VM). Then, the Cisco IP Communicator softphone software is installed in the VM for the simulation test of VoIP based communications. The tftpd32 software is installed in the VM for the simulation of file transfer. There are three simulation scenarios, which are normal VoIP simulation, VoIP simulation with network load, VoIP simulation after QoS implementation. Each simulation scenario was performed five times in a total of 15 tests. The QoS analysis of the tests is performed using Wireshark software that is displayed in statistical form and network performance graphs. The final results of normal VoIP simulation analysis have fulfilled the ITU G.114 standard with latency less than 150 ms and Cisco-powered Networks (CPN) SLA with jitter less than 20 ms, and packet loss tolerance up to 0,5%. The final results of VoIP simulation analysis with network loads were found not to meet both SLAs with packet loss exceeding maximum tolerance, i.e. more than 1% for the ITU G.114 standard. The final results of VoIP simulation analysis after QoS implementation proves the realization of QoS VoIP configuration that meets ITU G.114 standard on latency and CPN SLA on jitter and packet loss tolerance. These results prove that the quality of VoIP in the network simulation is maintained well despite the network load.
