Abstract

Perkembangan zaman dan teknologi menyebabkan semakin banyak munculnya pesaing di berbagai bidang industri. Industri yang sulit bertahan untuk mengikuti perkembangan dapat mempengaruhi produktivitasnya sehingga beberapa industri harus berhenti beroperasi. Fasilitas industri berupa bangunan atau lansekap yang memiliki nilai kesejarahan maupun teknologi yang sudah tidak beroperasi lagi termasuk sebagai industrial heritage. Beberapa bangunan dan kawasan industrial heritage ini berada di tengah kota, yang ketika terabaikan dapat menurunkan kualitas ruang kota. Salah satu objek industrial heritage terkait industri kreatif perfilman yang sudah tidak beroperasi lagi adalah Perum PFN yang terletak di Jalan Otto Iskandardinata, Jakarta Timur. Perum PFN merupakan salah satu pelopor industri perfilman di Indonesia pertama yang hadir sejak zaman masa penjajahan Belanda. Bangunan Perum PFN telah berdiri sejak zaman penjajahan Belanda dan cenderung terabaikan saat ini. Sejarah dan peran Perum PFN yang berperan dalam industri perfilman Indonesia menjadi signifikan untuk tetap diingat dan menjadi warisan budaya perfilman yang juga berperan dalam memberi kualitas pada ruang kota. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi elemen arsitektur yang bernilai untuk dipertahankan serta memberikan usulan fungsi baru yang mampu menghidupkan kembali kawasan PFN dengan identitasnya terkait industri film khususnya bagi komunitas film. Proses observasi dan analisis didasarkan pada studi literatur untuk menemukan kriteria dan menganalisis potensi yang dimiliki serta identitas apa yang ingin dipertahankan. Strategi adaptive reuse digunakan untuk melindungi identitas dan elemen penting pada bangunan Perum PFN yang diadaptasi untuk memberikan fungsi dan aktivitas baru di dalamnya. Hasil penelitian ini berupa suatu usulan konsep revitalisasi bangunan Perum PFN sebagai industrial heritage melalui penerapan strategi adaptive reuse. Penerapan strategi adaptive reuse yang diterapkan pada bangunan-bangunan dalam Perum PFN yang terabaikan, yaitu bangunan laboratorium, agar dapat digunakan kembali dan berfungsi untuk mewadahi aktivitas komunitas film yaitu dengan metode insertions. Selain itu, perancangan desain juga mengintegrasi fungsi program ruang yang baru dengan bangunan eksisting melalui aktivitas dan penambahan massa baru sesuai kebutuhan komunitas film dalam Perum PFN. / The growth of technology leads to many competitors from all kinds of industries. Some industries that cannot withstand the growth of technology might affect on the production and may caused an industry to stop operating. Abandoned industries that usually left behind its facilities such as building, landscape or technologies that has historical values are called industrial heritage. Industrial heritage might be found anywhere, even in the middle of the city and if it is abandoned, the city space might be affected or degraded. One of the examples of the industrial heritages discussed is Perum PFN, which located in Jalan Otto Iskandardinata, Jakarta Timur and is no longer operating as much as it used to. Perum PFN is one of the first renowned film industry pioneer in Indonesia that has been present and built since the Dutch colonialism. The lack of production in Perum PFN leads to the abandoned building left today, which are mostly empty and unused. Nevertheless, the buildings in Perum PFN still holds a valuable history and can be reused to increase the quality of space as it used to take role for Indonesia’s film industry that needs to be remembered. This study aims to identify the architectural elements that are valuable and potential to be maintained to revive the area of Perum PFN through revitalizing the buildings by proposing new programs for film community to maintain the identity of Perum PFN as a film industry. The observation and analysis process are based on the study literature to obtain the criteria and analyze the potentials and characteristics of the buildings that can be maintained. Through the study, the adaptive reuse strategy is used to preserve the characteristic and important elements of the building by inserting a new function and activity inside. The result of this paper is a concept design proposal of revitalizing industrial heritage buildings through the adaptive reuse strategy. Abandoned buildings in Perum PFN, which is the laboratory building, are revitalized by using the insertion method from the adaptive reuse strategy so those buildings can function again and used to accommodate various activities of film community. The design proposal also integrates the new function inserted with the existing buildings through activities inside and adding a new massing based on the needs of community film in Perum PFN.
