Abstract

Industrial heritage merupakan sebuah kawasan industri yang bersejarah atau memiliki budaya yang memerlukan untuk dilestarikan agar nilai yang dimilikinya tidak hilang. Banyak kawasan industri yang sudah menjadi industrial heritage sehingga generasi sekarang dan yang akan datang akan tetap dapat menikmati heritage tersebut. Di suatu industrial heritage akan memiliki industrial asset yang berwujud ataupun tidak berwujud, hal tersebut dapat membantu untuk menceritakan heritage yang dimiliki dari suatu kawasan industri. Adaptive reuse merupakan salah satu cara untuk membuat sebuah industrial heritage dengan cara mengubah fungsi lamanya menjadi baru dengan tujuan untuk menghidupkan kembali kawasan industri tersebut. Pabrik Kina Bandung merupakan kawasan industri yang dahulunya merupakan tempat pembuatan obat untuk mengobat penyakit malaria. Pabrik tersebut memiliki cerita sejarah yang sangat berperan bagi kota bandung pada masa lalu namun tidak banyak yang tahu mengenai hal tersebut dan sekarang pabrik sudah tidak beroperasional lagi. Pabrik kina bepotensi untuk dilakukan adaptive reuse karena bangunan eksisting masih berdiri, selain itu tempat tersebut berpotensi dijadikan industrial heritage. Strategi adaptive reuse yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan metode remodeling dan juxtaposition. Metode tersebut dimplementasikan kepada pabrik kina Bandung dengan cara mendesain dan merapihkan interior dari beberapa dari bangunan pabrik eks-kina serta juga beberapa rumah yang merupakan peninggalan dari zaman belanda. Selain itu menambahkan elemen tambahan yang terpisah dari bangunan eksisting dengan tujuan untuk menunjukkan keeksistensian pabrik kina Bandung tersebut. / Industrial heritage is an industrial area that has their own story and culture that is needed to be conserve so generations to come can enjoy their heritage. Inside the industrial heritage there are objects that is tangible and intangible that tell the stories and heritage that they have, these objects is called industrial assets. Adaptive resue is one of the ways to create an industrial heritage more living and alive at an industrial area by changing its old function to a new one. Pabrik Kina Bandung is an industrial area that was once a place of making medicine to cure malaria disease. The factory itself has an history and play an important role in Bandung in the past, but now the factory is no longer operational of making the cure. The kina factory has the potential to do adaptive reuse in order to conserve its heritage and because of that place has many story that hasn’t been told to the public. Adaptive reuse is being used in this research, the methods are remodeling and juxtaposition. The implementation of those methods are by redesigning and spruce up the existing layout of the pabrik ex-kina and a few of the Netherlands houses that are inside the industrial area. Also by adding a new element next to the existing building, the purpose of the new element is to show the existence of the industrial area.
