Abstract

Sebuah kawasan heritage menjadi tempat yang sebaiknya ramai dikunjungi karena menambah wawasan akan sejarah dengan ceritanya. Seperti kawasan heritage Museum Bahari di Jakarta Utara yang mengandung banyak cerita dari masa lalu. Namun kurangnya koneksi antar ruang publik heritage pada kawasan ini menjadikan tiap ruang publik seakan berdiri sendiri. Ruang publik heritage pada kawasan ini antara lain adalah Museum Bahari, Menara Syahbandar tidak lupa juga area Pelabuhan Sunda Kelapa yang saling berdekatan. Kawasan ini mengandung banyak cerita sejarah di masa lampau yang kental akan sejarah kemaritimannya. Sayangnya kawasan ini tidak terhubung dengan baik dan cerita masa lampau tidak tersampaikan dengan maksimal. Akibatnya hal ini juga menggerus identitas kawasan. Sehingga pada penelitian ini akan berfokus kepada permasalahan mengenai konektivitas kawasan ini. Penelitian kali ini bermaksud untuk memahami kriteria ruang publik heritage yang berkualitas. Selain itu penting juga untuk mengetahui fasilitas yang dibutuhkan ruang publik komersil melalui studi linkage pada kawasan heritage. Sehingga pengembangan fasilitas ruang publik komersil di kawasan ini menjadi jawaban atas permasalahan diskoneksi kawasan. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur tentang ruang publik, ruang publik pada kawasan heritage, dan linkage serta studi preseden. Ada pula studi preseden mengenai beberapa kawasan heritage dengan linkage yang baik. Selanjutnya juga dilakukan survei ke kawasan dan melakukan analisis untuk mengetahui masalah lebih mendetail. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sembilan kriteria ruang publik heritage yang berkualitas. Kesembilan kriterianya yaitu kenyamanan, relaksasi, keterikatan pasif, keterikatan aktif, penemuan, aksesibilitas, historis, identitas dan linkage. Pada penelitian ini juga akan didapat fasilitas ruang publik komersil dan diterapkan pada pengembangan desain. Keseluruhan dari desain akan dilengkapi dengan fasilitas komersil yang akan menjadi penghubung sekaligus pelengkap kawasan. Sehingga pengembangan bangunan dan area sekitarnya dapat menjawab permasalahan konektivitas pada kawasan heritage Museum Bahari./A heritage area is a place that should be visited more often because it adds insight into history with its stories. However, the lack of connection between heritage public spaces in this area makes each public space stand alone. Heritage public spaces in this area including Museum Bahari, Menara Syahbandar and the adjacent Sunda Kelapa Port area. This region contains many historical stories in the past that are dense with maritime histories. Unfortunately, this area is not well connected and the past stories are not fully conveyed. As a result of this also erodes the identity of the region. Therefore, this research focuses on the issues regarding the connectivity of this region. This study aims to determine the criteria for a good quality heritage public space. Besides, it is also important to know the required facilities in commercial public spaces through linkage studies in heritage areas. So, the development of commercial public spaces facilities in this region is the answer to the problem of regional disconnection. The method of this study includes a literature study of public space, public space in heritage areas, linkage and precedent studies. There is also a precedent study of several heritage areas with good linkage. Furthermore, a survey was conducted in the region to analyze and to find out more details about the problems. This study has produced nine quality criteria for heritage public spaces. The nine quality criteria are comfort, relaxation, passive attachment, active attachment, discovery, accessibility, historical, identity and linkage. This study also obtains commercial public space facilities and will be applied to design development. The overall design will be equipped with commercial facilities that will serve as a liaison and complement to the region. Therefore, the development of buildings and surrounding areas can address connectivity problems in the Maritime Museum heritage area.
