Abstract

Selama 150 tahun terakhir bentuk bangunan gereja Kristen masih mempertahankan gaya klasik seperti Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic (and later Neo-Gothic), Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo. Keterbiasaan akan penggunaan gaya klasik tersebut membuat bangunan gereja seakan-akan hanya sesuatu yang menjadi peninggalan dari zaman sebelumnya. Namun secara material tidak arsitektur yang sakral, melainkan hanya ada arsitektur yang cenderung memiliki sifat sakral. Perkembangan akan gaya arsitekur moderen bagi bangunan gereja dipengaruhi oleh idiom arsitektur: form follows function yang dimana adanya penyederhanaan bentuk, material, dan hilangnya ornamen dapat lebih menghilangkan gangguan visual dan mementingkan ibadah yang berlangsung. Kepercayaan yang kontemporer harus didukung dengan aristektur yang Kontemporer. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk menganalisis elemen-elemen arsitektur sakral yang terdiri dari: gate, path, place, portal, aisle & altar, dan faktor pembentuk sifat sakral dalam bagungan gereja yaitu: Skala, Cahaya dan Organization of Space. Studi ini menemukan kriteria untuk menilai studi preseden dan solusi desain: bangunan gereja Kristen kontemporer. Penelitian pada tapak dan perolehan standarisasi dari program ruang akan di gunakan sebagai panduan yang akan digunakan pada tahap perancangan. Proses perancangan dari penelitian ini dimulai dengan menganalisis tapak untuk menentukan kelebihan dan kekurangannya. Penataan program menjadi tahap selanjutnya dimana perancangan menyesuai alur dari elemen arsitetkur sakral yaitu: gate, path, place, portal, aisle & altar. Penerapan faktor seperti skala, cahaya dan organization of space pada setiap tahap diharapkan untuk memberikan kualitas pengalaman spatial yang sakral yang meningkat saat jemaat melalui sekarangkaian lapisan ruang pada gereja. / Over the last 150 years the Christian church building forms have retained classical styles such as Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic (and later Neo-Gothic), Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo. The habit of using the classical style makes the church building seem like something from the previous era. But materially it is not a sacred architecture, but there is only architecture that tends to have a sacred nature. The development of modern architectural styles for church buildings is influenced by architectural idioms: the form follows function in which the simplification of form, material, and loss of ornamentation can further eliminate visual disturbances and emphasize ongoing worship. Contemporary beliefs must be supported by contemporary architecture. This study uses a qualitative method to analyze the elements of sacred architecture consisting of: gate, path, place, portal, aisle & altar, and the factors forming sacred properties in the church baggage namely: Scale, Light and Organization of Space. This study finds criteria for assessing precedent study and design solutions: contemporary Christian church buildings. Research on the site and the acquisition of standardization of the space program will be used as a guide to be used at the design stage. The design process of this study begins by analyzing the site to determine its strengths and weaknesses. The structuring of the program becomes the next stage where the design matches the flow of the sacred architectural elements, namely: gate, path, place, portal, aisle & altar. The application of factors such as scale, light and organization of space at each stage is expected to provide the quality of a sacred spatial experience that increases as the congregation goes through a series of spatial layers in the church.
