Abstract

Pada masa sekarang, banyak masyarakat menempuh perjalanan pulang pergi ke Jakarta untuk bekerja setiap hari menggunakan kendaraan pribadi yang menyebabkan kemacetan dan polusi udara. Hal ini dapat dihindari dengan penggunaan transportasi umum seperti Kereta Rel Listrik (KRL). Namun, sebagian masyarakat enggan menggunakannya karena citra buruk KRL yang telah melekat. Isu ini diangkat ke dalam cerita pendek dan divisualisasikan oleh penulis dan tim dalam bentuk film animasi pendek dua dimensi, dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan masalah yang ada. Metode perancangan yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dan observasi. Adapun data-data yang digunakan dari studi pustaka berupa artikel maupun riset yang berhubungan dengan permasalahan yang dibahas, dan juga teori-teori serta referensi yang berkaitan dengan produksi film animasi khususnya topik animasi dan komposisi. Sedangkan observasi dilakukan dengan melihat langsung keadaan di kereta dan beberapa stasiunnya, yang kemudian dianalisis sesuai dengan topik pembahasan. Hasil dari tugas akhir ini merupakan sebuah film animasi pendek dua dimensi. Proses pembuatannya yang dimulai dari pencarian kata kunci visual dan penerapannya dalam komposisi film, hingga dengan perancangan animasinya dijelaskan dalam karya tulis ini. Kata kunci visual yang dicari merepresentasikan suasana dalam bagian cerita yang berbeda, di mana kata “mundane” untuk bagian awal hingga pertengahan cerita, sedangkan “genial” untuk pertengahan hingga akhir cerita. Kedua kata kunci ini menjadi panduan dalam perancangan visual yang dibuat. / Nowadays, a lot of people travel back and forth to work in Jakarta every day using private vehicles which cause traffic jams and air pollution. This can be avoided by the use of public transportation such as Electric Train (KRL). However, some people are reluctant to use it because of the inherent bad KRL image. This issue was brought up in a short story and visualized by the writer and the team in the form of a two-dimensional short animated film, with the aim of increasing public awareness of the existing problem. The design methods used are literature and observation study. The data collected are in the form of articles and researches relating to the issues discussed, as well as theories and references relating to the production of animated films, especially the topic of animation and composition. While observations were done by looking directly at the situation on the train and several stations, which were then analyzed according to the topic discussed. The result of this final project is a short two-dimensional animated film. The process of making the film, starting from searching the visual keywords and how it applies to the film compositions, until the animation design are explained in this paper. The visual keywords represent the mood in different parts of the story, where the word "mundane" is for the beginning to the middle of the story, while "genial" is for the middle to the end of the story. Both keywords serve as a guide in creating the design.
