Abstract

Definisi stigma terhadap kesehatan mental di budaya barat jauh berbeda dengan apa yang penulis lihat di Indonesia. Akses perawatan dan terapi yang menangani kesehatan mental masih sangat amat terbatas. Di Indonesia stigma di sekitar keluarga ataupun lingkungan masih terlihat tidak terbuka akan masalah mental. Stigma seringkali mendiskriminasi seseorang yang dikatakan “berbeda”, mempunyai stereotype dimana pergi ke psikolog adalah sesuatu yang sangat tabu. Tak jarang masyarakat di Indonesia hampir banyak mengalami Kecemasan, yaitu sesuatu hal yang wajar dan hampir semua manusia mengalaminya, namun sekian banyak orang juga mengalami tingkat kecemasan yang berbeda, bahkan mengganggu aktivitas sehari-hari. Faktor Kecemasan ini seringkali tidak dianggap, sehingga generasi remaja saat ini harus meningkatkan kesadaran akan isu kesehatan mental, agar menjadi pribadi yang memiliki jiwa sehat, serta dapat mengerti identitas dan tujuannya. Maka penting memperbaiki pola pikir masyarakat indonesia terhadap masalah mental terutama bagi kaum remaja hingga dewasa, karena hal itu memiliki dampak besar. / The definition of stigma on mental health in western culture is very different from what the author sees in Indonesia. Access to care and therapy that deals with mental health is still very limited. In Indonesia, the stigma around the family or the environment is still not open to mental problems. Stigma often discriminates against someone who is said to be "different", having a stereotype where going to a psychologist is very taboo. Not infrequently the people in Indonesia almost experience anxiety, which is something natural and almost all humans experience it, but many people also experience different levels of anxiety, even disrupting daily activities. This anxiety factor is often not considered, so the current generation of adolescents must raise awareness of mental health issues, in order to become a person who has a healthy soul, and can understand their identity and purpose. So it is important to improve the mindset of Indonesian people on mental problems, especially for adolescents to adults, because it has a big impact.
