Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari cara terbaik untuk menyajikan puisi secara visual, agar bisa lebih menarik perhatian pembaca anak muda. Ini dikarenakan ketertarikan anak-anak muda untuk membaca buku rendah, dan kebanyakan lebih memilih menggunakan media seperti video dan gambar. Dalam penelitian ini, puisi dikaryakan menjadi ilustrasi dengan motion graphics. Media ilustrasi gerak ini mencerminkan media puisi yang sekuensial. Puisi yang digunakan adalah buku puisi Sakuntala karya Gunawan Maryanto. Puisi ini bertema cinta dan kerinduan, yang merupakan tema-tema universal dalam sastra. Gaya yang digunakan adalah surealisme, dan ini juga mencerminkan gaya penulisan puisi yang sureal. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah 4 karya ilustrasi dengan motion graphics yang berkisar 40 detik-1 menit. Karya diciptakan secara digital. Metode penyajian puisi ini merupakan sesuatu yang inovatif dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak muda, dan oleh karena itu diharapkan dapat mempengaruhi minat membaca mereka. / The purpose of this research paper is to study the process of presenting poems through visualization, so that these poems can appeal to a younger audience. This is because there is low interest in reading amongst young adults as they prefer other mediums such as videos and images. In this research, poems are visualized through motion graphic illustration as this medium reflects the sequentiality within the medium of poetry. The poems selected for this study are taken from Sakuntala, a book of poetry written by Gunawan Maryanto. These poems primarily focus on the themes of love and longing, which are universal themes within the medium. The style used for this is surrealism as it reflects the surreal writing style used within the poems. The results of this research are 4 motion graphic illustrations which range between 40 seconds to 1 minute. All works are created digitally. This method of displaying poetry is innovative and suitable for the needs of young people, and therefore is expected to increase the interest in reading amongst them.
