Abstract

The main objective of this research is to observe whether there is an effect or not from motivation on employee performance at PT Global Inti Pasifik with the target to help in determining the employee performance problem in the mentioned company for a better employee performance. In the writer perspective, there are some problems which often occurred revolving the employee performance especially in shipping company and this is supported by accumulated data by the writer which obtained by one of the officials in PT Global Inti Pasifik as the observed company in the past three years data which has decrement. This research used the quantitative method with census sampling ,the size of the sample is 54 and IBM SPPS Statistics v.25 as the analyzing tool for the number of data obtained by the writer in this research. Some of the tests to determine the result are validity test, reliability test, normality test, linearity test, heteroscedasticity test, determination test, linear regression test, and hypothesis test. In the research hypothesis test which used z-test resulted 6.042 and passed the requirement amount from Z-Table (1.96) which indicates that motivation does give effect on employee performance at PT Global Inti Pasifik. The result is aligned with the result of determination test which shows that there is a 68.8% determination level from the motivation on employee performance at PT Global Inti Pasifik which also hint that the rest, 32.2% is being affected by other factors besides motivation. The conclusion shows that the motivation does affect the employee performance at PT Global Inti Pasifik thus the writer suggested there is a need for the company to pay attention to motivation for a better employee performance. / Tujuan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti ada atau tidaknya kehadiran efek dari motivasi terhadap performa karyawan dalam PT Global Inti Pasifik dengan harapan dapat memecahkan permasalahan performa karyawan di perusahaan yang bersangkutan untuk performa yang lebih baik. Dalam pandangan peneliti, beberapa permasalahan relatif sering muncul dalam performa karyawan khususnya dalam perusahaan jasa pengiriman ekspor impor dan di mana hal ini didukung dari data yang diberikan oleh salah satu petinggi di PT Global Inti Pasifik sebagai perusahaan yang ingin diteliti oleh peneliti selama tiga tahun terakhir yang memiliki penurunan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode sensus sampel ,dengan ukuran sampel 54 dan IBM SPSS Statistics v.25 sebagai perangkat analisa angka yang didapatkan oleh peneliti dari survei penelitian. Beberapa metode analisis pengujian peneliti juga terdiri dari uji validitas, uji realibilitas, uji normalitas, uji linearitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, uji determinasi, uji regeresi linear, dan uji hipotesis. Uji hipotessi dalam penelitian ini yang menggunakan z-test memiliki hasil 6.042 dan melewati batas tabel Z (1.96) menunjukkan motivasi memberikan efek terhadap performa karyawan di PT Global Inti Pasifik. Dipertegas oleh hasil dari uji determinasi yang menunjukkan adanya efek sebanyak 68.8% yang ditimbulkan oleh motivasi terhadap performa karyawan di PT. Global Inti Pasifik yang sisanya, 32.2% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain selain motivasi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya efek dari motivasi terhadap performa karyawan di PT Global Inti Pasifik sehingga peneliti menyarankan perlunya perhatian khusus terhadap motivasi jikalau perusahaan tersebut ingin meningkatkan performa karyawan.
