Abstract

One of the factors that can improve the employee performance is by giving rewards. Rewarding can be in the form of giving bonuses, placards or just praise to employees. PT.Prima Karya Metalindo Lestari, Tanjung Morawa is a company engaged in roofing, cladding and truss. One of the factors that causes a decrease in employee work performance is: the company has lack of reward program but on the other hand it applies a punishment system. This research uses the theories about reward and its influence on employees’ performance. The framework of this research is to find out the relationship between reward and employees’ performance. The methods used by the writer in this research is causal research. Data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. This research uses simple linear regression, hypothesis test and coefficient determination to know the influence of reward on employees’ performance. Based on research result, the simple linear regression showed equation of Y = 3.079 + 1.386 X. It means that variable reward has a straight relationship to employees’ performance, that if there is an increase on reward, the employees’ performance will also increase. The conclusion on this research is the hypothesis test shows that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, and it means that the reward significantly has influence on the employees’ performance at PT.Prima Karya Metalindo Lestari, Tanjung Morawa. The recommendation for next researcher is that the research should add another variable that has relation to employees’ performance. The next researcher can possible conduct more investigations on other variables to know the most influential variable to employees’ performance./Salah satu faktor yang dapat meningkatkan kinerja karyawan adalah dengan memberikan penghargaan. Pemberian hadiah bisa dalam bentuk pemberian bonus, plakat atau hanya pujian kepada karyawan. PT.Prima Karya Metalindo Lestari, Tanjung Morawa adalah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang roofing, cladding dan truss. Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan penurunan kinerja kerja karyawan adalah: perusahaan memiliki sistem penghargaan yang kurang bagus tetapi di sisi lain itu juga menerapkan sistem hukuman. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori tentang penghargaan dan pengaruhnya terhadap kinerja karyawan. Kerangka kerja penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penghargaan dan kinerja karyawan. Metode yang digunakan oleh penulis dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kausal. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Penelitian ini menggunakan regresi linier sederhana, uji hipotesis dan koefisien determinasi untuk mengetahui dampak penghargaan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, regresi linier sederhana menunjukkan persamaan Y = 3.079 + 1.386 X. Ini berarti bahwa penghargaan memiliki hubungan langsung dengan kinerja karyawan, bahwa jika ada kenaikan pada hadiah, kinerja karyawan juga akan meningkat. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, dan itu berarti bahwa penghargaan secara signifikan mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan di PT.Prima Karya Metalindo Lestari, Tanjung Morawa. Rekomendasi untuk peneliti berikutnya adalah bahwa penelitian harus menambahkan variabel lain yang memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja karyawan. Peneliti selanjutnya dapat lakukan lebih banyak penyelidikan pada variabel lain untuk mengetahui variabel yang paling berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan.
