Abstract

The problems that occur due to lack of motivation given to employees caused by the work given is not in accordance with the position of work, salary that is not in accordance with what is done, salary is difficult to rise, career path is unclear, all of this affects the employee's performance decreases .The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an effect of motivation on employees’ performance at PT Pioneer Glassindo Utama, Medan. Motivation is as a motivator or trigger to do something or work to fulfill his needs for life. Meanwhile employees performance is a work result that determines whether an employee is really qualified or not in his job. Data research method used in this research are descriptive and quantitative causal. The research method was conducted by preliminary interviews, and distribute the questionnaires. The population of PT Pioneer Glassindo Utama, Medan is 130 employees, by using Slovin formula become 99 respondents. Data analysis method used is simple linear regression. The result of determination test shown that 50.6% of motivation effect the employees’ performance. And for t-test shown that motivation has effect on employees’ performance with tresult is bigger than ttable which Ha is accepted means that there is an effect of motivation on employees’ performance at PT Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan. In closing for the company must pay attention to the employees and maintain the relationship within the employees in order to get a good feedback from the employees such as their contribution or their work./ Masalah-masalah yang terjadi akibat kurangnya motivasi yang diberikan kepada karyawan disebabkan oleh pekerjaan yang diberikan tidak sesuai dengan posisi kerja, gaji yang tidak sesuai dengan apa yang dikerjakan, gaji sulit dinaikkan, jalur karier tidak jelas, semua ini Mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan menurun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh motivasi terhadap kinerja karyawan di PT Pioneer Glassindo Utama, Medan. Motivasi adalah sebagai motivator atau pemicu untuk melakukan sesuatu atau bekerja untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya. Sementara itu kinerja karyawan adalah hasil kerja yang menentukan apakah seorang karyawan benar-benar berkualitas atau tidak dalam pekerjaannya. Metode penelitian data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dan kuantitatif kausal. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan wawancara pendahuluan, dan mendistribusikan kuesioner. Populasi PT Pioneer Glassindo Utama, Medan adalah 130 karyawan, dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin menjadi 99 responden. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier sederhana. Hasil uji determinasi menunjukkan bahwa 50,6% karyawan berpengaruh terhadap motivasi kinerja. Dan untuk uji-t menunjukkan bahwa motivasi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan dengan tresult lebih besar dari ttabel yang diterima Ha berarti ada pengaruh motivasi terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Pioneer Glassindo Utama Medan. Sebagai penutup untuk perusahaan harus memperhatikan karyawan dan menjaga hubungan dalam karyawan untuk mendapatkan umpan balik yang baik dari karyawan seperti kontribusi mereka atau pekerjaan mereka
