Abstract
Comforta Hotel Dumai is one of the three stars hotel located in Riau Province which is known as an industrial city instead of a tourism city. With the building that has been established 24 years ago, Comforta Hotel Dumai still competes with the other new hotels in Dumai City. The purpose of this research is to identify the influence of the partial work motivation on employee’s performance, the influence of partial work environment on employee’s performance, and the influence of work motivation and environment on employee’s performance simultaneously.
The research is done by quantitative method. Data is collected by distributing the questionnaires to the samples of this research. Samples are taken with Simple Random Sampling technique which is 50 out of 57 employees of Comforta Hotel Dumai. Data is analyzed using multiple linear regressions with significance level of 5%. This research concludes that there is a simultaneous influence of work motivation and environment on employee’s performance. Work motivation influences the employee’s performance and work environment influences the employee’s performance. / Comforta Hotel Dumai adalah salah satu hotel bintang tiga yang terletak di Provinsi Riau yang dikenal sebagai kota industri dan bukan kota pariwisata. Dengan bangunan yang telah berdiri 24 tahun yang lalu, Comforta Hotel Dumai masih bersaing dengan hotel-hotel baru lainnya di Kota Dumai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan, pengaruh lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan, dan pengaruh motivasi kerja dan lingkungan terhadap kinerja karyawan secara simultan.
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan membagikan kuesioner kepada sampel penelitian ini. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan Simple Random Sampling yang berjumlah 50 dari 57 karyawan Comforta Hotel Dumai. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda dengan tingkat signifikansi 5%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh simultan dari motivasi kerja dan lingkungan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Motivasi kerja mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan dan lingkungan kerja mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan.
