Abstract

Kebutuhan akan sumber energi akan semakin bertambah seiring dengan bergeraknya peradaban manusia dan perkembangan jaman. Kurang dari 40 tahun, 70% populasi dunia akan berpindah ke kota-kota besar. Hal ini membuat permintaan akan energi bertambah. Selaras dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk di kota-kota, maka tingkat kebisingan pun akan bertambah. Kebisingan yang disebabkan oleh bermacam-macam sumber suara seperti pabrik, suara manusia, maupun transportasi yang jumlahnya kian bertambha memenuhi jalan. Melihat fakta yang sedemikian rupa, muncullah gagasan tentang pemanfaatan suara sebagai sebuha bentuk energi buangan yang dapat dipakai lagi menjadi sumber energi alternatif. Pasalnya, teknik mengonversikan suara menjadi listrik sudah ada, tetapi masih dalam tahap mikro dalam pemanfaatannya dan belum berkembang teknologinya. Terowongan menjadi sebuah wadah yang tepat untuk memanen suara berdengung di jalan raya yang setiap hari dipenuhi kendaraan bahkan dirundung kemacetan. WHO mencatat sebanyak 1.2 juta jiwa meninggal dan 3.8 juta jiwa menjadi cacat setiap tahunnya karena kecelakaan yang terjadi di tengah-tengah kemacetan. Sebuah penelitian psikologi memaparkan bahwa kemacetan membuat pengguna jalan menjadi stress dan bersikap agresif yang cenderung bersifat merusak di jalan. Belum lagi stress yang menumpuk di jalan dapat mempengaruhi suasana hati seseorang di tempat kerja dan berpotensi menyebabkan gangguan menta / The need of energy resources is increased as the civilization is moving forward. In less than 40 years, 70% of world’s population will reside to cities. It will cause the demand of energy supply to be bloated. As the numbers of people who live in the city are growing, the noises also do. Noises come from many sources of sound, such as factory, human voices, or transportation whose number is increasing and packing the road. Looking into these facts, the idea to utilize sound or noises, which are wasted to be alternative source of energy, will become an innovative solution for this reality. Nonetheless, the technique to convert sound into electricity already is, however the technology has not developed and is used in micro scope. Tunnels or underpasses are the perfect places for harvesting the energy because vehicles pass in them every day. Moreover, it oftens jam-packed with them on the peak hour. WHO reports that 1.2 million people are killed and the other 50 million are injured due to accidents in the traffic jam. A study claims that traffic jam causes people in the road to be stressful and act aggressively which tend to be destructive. Moreover, this stressful moment will effect the mood of the workers on the way to office and have a potential to cause mental disorder in the future
