Abstract

This research was conducted at PT Sumatrasarana Sekar Sakti Medan in which work motivation is an important factor in the company. From the work motivation, the company hopes that it increases the work discipline because by having a positive work discipline it helps to encourage employees to achieve tasks in a timely manner. The main objective of this research is to find the influence of work motivation on employees’ work discipline. In this study, the method used by the author is a quantitative analysis method. The types of data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data was collected through interviews and questionnaires distributed to employees. The total population is 128 employees PT. Sumatrasarana Sekar Sakti Medan and the sample in the study amounted to 96 employees PT. Sumatrasarana Sekar Sakti Medan. The scale used to measure variables is the Likert scale. The determination coefficient test results obtained was 0.413, this means 41.3% of the dependent variable work discipline can be explained by Work Motivation while the remaining 58.7% is explained by other variables which was not used in this research. The conclusion in this study is the influence Work Motivation has influence towards work discipline at PT Sumatrasarana Sekar Sakti Medan. The recommendation in this study is to give incentives if the employees come on time to work. The company can also cut their salary based on how many times they come late or if they go home earlier than the scheduled working time. / Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT Sumatrasarana Sekar Sakti Medan yang motivasi kerjanya merupakan faktor penting dalam perusahaan. Dari motivasi kerja, perusahaan berharap dapat meningkatkan disiplin kerja karena dengan memiliki disiplin kerja yang positif akan membantu mendorong karyawan untuk mencapai tugas secara tepat waktu. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi kerja terhadap disiplin kerja karyawan. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah metode analisis kuantitatif. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada karyawan. Total populasi adalah 128 karyawan PT. Sumatrasarana Sekar Sakti Medan dan sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 96 karyawan PT. Sumatrasarana Sekar Sakti Medan. Skala yang digunakan untuk mengukur variabel adalah skala Likert. Hasil Uji Koefisien Determinasi diperoleh nilai R2 sebesar 0,413, ini berarti 41,3% dari variabel dependen Work Disiplin yang dapat dijelaskan oleh Motivasi Kerja sedangkan sisanya 58,7% dijelaskan oleh variabel lain yang tidak digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengaruh Motivasi Kerja berpengaruh terhadap Disiplin Kerja di PT Sumatrasarana Sekar Sakti Medan. Rekomendasi dalam penelitian ini adalah memberikan insentif jika karyawan datang tepat waktu untuk bekerja. Perusahaan juga dapat memotong gaji mereka berdasarkan berapa kali mereka datang terlambat atau jika mereka pulang lebih awal dari waktu kerja yang dijadwalkan.
