Fase menjelang dewasa ditandai dengan keinginan individu untuk mengeksplorasi diri dengan berbagai pilihan dirinya sendiri. Individu menjadi lebih independen dan tidak bergantung pada orangtua, namun belum sepenuhnya dapat berkomitmen dan bertanggung jawab sebagai orang dewasa. Pada fase ini individu merasa dirinya berada diantara fase remaja dan dewasa awal (Emerging Adulthood). Untuk mengetahui sikap berhenti merokok pada emerging adulthood, maka perlu diteliti variabel independent apa saja yang mempengaruhi sikap berhenti merokok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh terpaan dan pengetahuan tentang pictorial health warning serta motivasi terhadap sikap berhenti merokok. Untuk membuktikan ada tidaknya pengaruh variabel independent terhadap variabel dependent pada penelitian ini telah dirumuskan empat hipotesis penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Data diperoleh dengan menyebar kuesioner dan selanjutnya data diolah dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan kebenaran Teori ELM bahwa seseorang dapat dipengaruhi dan dapat mengubah sikapnya karena pengaruh informasi. Informasi disini dikatakan sebagai pengetahuan. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah pengetahuan dan motivasi jika diuji secara tunggal tidak ditemukan pengaruh terhadap Sikap berhenti merokok. Ketika variabel diuji secara bersamaan yaitu pictorial health warning, pengetahuan dan motivasi terhadap sikap berhenti merokok secara signifikan berpengaruh satu sama lainnya. / The phase of adulthood is characterized by the desire of individuals to explore themselves with a variety of choices themselves. Individuals become more independent and not dependent on parents, but have not been fully able to commit and be responsible as adults. In this phase the individual feels himself to be between the adolescent and early adult phases (Emerging Adulthood). To find out the attitude to stop smoking in emerging adulthood, it is necessary to examine what independent variables that influence smoking cessation. This study aims to determine the effect of exposure to knowledge and motivation regarding pictorial health warning on smoking cessation attitudes. To prove the presence or absence of the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable in this study four research hypotheses were formulated. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data obtained by distributing questionnaires and then the data is processed and analyzed using the SPSS program. The results of this study prove the truth of the ELM theory that a person can be influenced and can change his attitude because of the influence of information. This information is said to be knowledge. The conclusion of this study is knowledge and motivation if tested singly found no effect on the attitude to stop smoking. When the variables are tested simultaneously, pictorial health warning, knowledge and motivation towards smoking cessation significantly influence each other.
